How do you think that tradition started in the first place? Mind you they were probably trying for a glimpse of ankle back then.

Thanks guys for the replies. I think I will skip the BeSpoke and the TRD exhaust. For the manual or auto...I will have to test drive both again to make decision.

Do not skip the TRD exhaust and as others have said get the manual if you can. Watch some videos on YouTube on all your questions. There is one vid of a Firestorm colored FR-S that captures the TRD exhaust brilliantly!

Have you even driven the auto? That's a ridiculous statement saying it's almost dangerous getting on the freeway.

OP. Test drive both. My wife and I went to the dealer wanting the stick. We weren't even gonna try the auto but they had brought one up front and warmed it up for us so we drove it. And then bought it.

We have both driven manual for over 30 years so it's not like we can't drive a clutch in traffic or heel toe shift. And we're not old and lazy either. We both ride sport bikes and track our auto - planning to compete in NASA TTD next season with it.

And drifting this is just as easy as manual if you know how to drive. None of that clutch kickin hand braking bullshit. Throttle and weight transfer does it all very easily.

I have bespoke, still sounds like crap imo. Only good thing about bespoke are the creature comforts. I'd go OEM+ but I have a long list of mods before sound since it's working find at the moment.

I got my TRD exhaust after about 1500 miles and at first I loved the sound, but it's slowly starting to bug me. It can get pretty loud when on the pedal above 3k rpm, or when you're accelerating on the highway. Also, I think it's A LOT quieter outside than it really sounds inside. When I hear people pull away with a TRD, it sounds so like a sleeper.

As for drifting an auto vs manual, I've never tried it on a auto, but I'm fairly certain I can drift it via ebrake. I started off doing a lot of ebrake drifts in second gear on my manual, eventually went on to first gear weight transfer drifts. As long as you can initiate the drift, this car is pretty forgiving at holding the drift with the right amount of gas.

Have you deleted/plugged the sound tube? I found most of he noise in the car was from that not the TRD exhaust.

Bespoke in the 2014+ is completely different than the 2013- system, FYI.

Also, not sure if you're considering differences in maintenance but that M3 may eat you alive (particularly with the SMG) compared to the FR-S which comes with oil changes ("Scion Service Boost") and won't likely need anything else for several years.

Yea, I have a perrin inlet tube so sound tube is all plugged up. The noise is definitely the exhaust.

I just test drove a monogram/auto with TRD exhaust. All I can say is wow, the exhaust is very loud and sound very strong. My local dealer has 3 demo monogram.
I made an offer($28k otd) for the first Halo and waiting for their reply. The APR will be high like 3-4% because they treats it as a used car.

1). Halo white / auto with TRD exhaust (100 miles)
2). Halo white / auto with TRD exhaust (2000 miles)
3). Black /stick / 20’ wheels with TRD exhaust (400 miles)

If I can’t get the deal I want for the demo Monogram, I will just get the 2015’ base black with auto and I may have to pay MSRP for that.

Maybe the Perrin/TRD combo then? I know that "loud" is a very subjective term and we all have different perceptions of what is and isn't excessive but I don't find my TRD exhaust loud at all.
On side note how do you like the Perrin? Have the TRD drop in but doesn't seem to do much of anything.
