I have a stock known working throttle body sitting in my house. It came off my car when replaced it with one I modified.

So when my shop went to swap out my throttle body with a "control" throttle body, they found the back side of my throttle plate "completely covered in carbon grime". After cleaning the throttle plate off, the discrepancy between the accelerator and throttle position sensor went away. So they think they have figured out the symptom, but still working on the root cause.

I only have maybe 4-5k miles on this edelbrock setup, while others have many times more than that with seemingly no issues. I asked the shop to see if they can figure out a root cause anywhere.

Why would only the backside be covered in carbon buildup? Also, I'm pretty sure the throttle body position works as a potentiometer, it's not like it's an optical sensor. Why would carbon throw that off? Do you have an air/oil separator?

No clue as to why only the backside would be covered in buildup. I asked about the rest of the intake, as that would be dirty as well if I was suffering from blow-by right? Nothing noted on the ticket, but they said they'd ask the tech again.

I do not have catch cans yet.

Definitely recommend catch can(s). I ran N/A with a Radium Dual setup, and for the most part was pretty dry. First oil change after the super charger install (approx. 2500 miles) and it was half full.

It may not be the answer to your problem, but it couldn't hurt you any.

I would recommend swapping your PCV for a WRX one. The stock PCV allows a LOT of blow by. I've had them side by side, it's quite dramatic in comparison.

I just called edelbrock and they said that the blower has been retrofitted so it fits the 17+ models. they said the best dealer to buy from is jegs so you know that you will get a newer model blower.

Does anyone have a link or know where I could buy a smaller pulley? Also, if i buy a smaller pulley would I have to buy a smaller belt as well or will the one that came with the supercharger work fine?

Car noob here.

so after getting my throttle body cleaned, the lower end of the RPMs feel smoother, and I'm seeing the highest mpg since before the kit. I was averaging 22.9 before the cleaning. It was 17 mpg right after the e-force install with the CARB tune. after adding some addition clamps to hoses in the system, and going to the delicious tune, it creeped up to 21 mpg. I could never break past 23 mpg per tank, so this is encouraging. I will monitor after a few more fill ups.

Nice! I didn't see the new blower on their website. Anyone else heard anything?
