I highly recommend what he stated. I have some Winmax W2's on order, and I did stainless lines, with a fluid swap. Expecting stopping power to be a nice increase over stock, but still being street friendly.

Go BBK if you have a lot of power and need the extra surface area for cooling.

I have hit 127 MPH and had more RPMs to go, but the HP seemed to just drop off.

Then I read that the US BRZ tunes begin fuel cut-off approaching 130 MPH (governor).
So I believe it.
And I have foud where in the tune the limit is (cant remember the table name off hand)

So if you just want a theoretic top speed as in " I have a 3.27 rear end so my top speed is 202mph." Just raise you`re rev limiter to 50,000 RPM. In theory you could probably hit the speed of sound in 4th

P.S. I did not do the math, but it`s just a joke in the first place.

Now in seriousness, To actually raise your realistic top speed, their isn`t much else that can be done, other then power, gearing and aero.

It was banked actually, just too sharp a turn to feel comfortable. Although I was also braking pretty hard as my exit is about halfway through the curve and I needed to slow down to around 80

The stock speed limiter is a soft limiter set at 137 and 140. The fuel cut speed limiter is set well over 200mph.

Since you seem fairly serious about this @plucas from Velox is probably a good person to get intouch with.

I may have, inadvertently, just possibly, one time in the middle of the night, on a very long straight deserted highway hit 132 before the power dropped off. It could have, just maybe, if it really happened (not saying it did ) held steady at that for a couple of minutes before I might have decided to slow down. I may also have hypothetically been shitting bricks in fear of a gust of wind causing lift off as the car may have, if it was really happening, felt like it was pretty close to losing any type of down force. So my probable fever dream experience would support the soft limit someplace around 130 or so just like you guys say.

I have hit 130 with mphs clicking over very slowly. Stock power/gearing will allow for 141 mph in the right conditions.

Increasing the size of the rear end gear will actually increase the top speed up to the point where you can just push to fuel cut or hp peak at the last bit of 6th.

Based on the anecdotal evidence from people who have played with gearing, it seems like our max speed by changing only gearing is around 150mph.

I just wish I could change one or the other (trans or rear end) so that highway cruising rpms aren't 3K+ in 6th. To maintain the current, fun nature of the car....I know that would be near impossible.

Why it's not hurting the engine and you can still get 30mpg on the highway?
