They are trying to keep the best of both worlds. More extra luggage of the hatchback and keep the center of gravity low and not ruin the drive characteristics of the car. I am sure that if they go for it (Subaru will have to agree), it will be a bit nicer.

I wouldn't be surprise if they actually made it. As pointed out above, Subaru also made a shooting brake concept, unlike with the 86 convertible concept.

If they do make it, I really hope they give it more power. 170whp is barely adequate as it is with a 2775 pound car.
