Almost didn't make it through the first minute, that was annoying. And then there was a decent review, phew...

I should post out some pics of my old AE86 back in the day.

lol, they have a... unique.. style.
I really like what they do as it really flys in the face of the typical car journalism.

the review they did of the FR-S is one of the best. the original Miata review is what got them attention.

Anxiously awaiting info on specs and pricing of the OFT350 Turbo kit.

From Shiv (OFT300 thread):

It is based on the standard SBD kit but with a few hardware (and software) changes. Expect another 35-40hp. Still in the process of wrapping up in-house torture testing. It's fun.

We are blessed to live in Ottawa

Set the record for coldest capital in the world yesterday.
Today is the coldest February 24 ever in Ottawa.
We were the coldest spot in Ontario at 4 am this morning.
And the kicker of it all is WE HAVE JUST SURVIVED THE COLDEST FEBRUARY IN THE HISTORY OF THIS CITY> Kanye West was at the top of the list for people I'd like to clothesline, lets just Al Gore has just supplanted him. 2 more weeks of this @@%$# and we should be god to go.

PS. thanks for the update on the OFT turbo package Andre.

Interesting solution, is the performance effected? How did you come up with this method, did you come up with it yourself or did you read it on the forums...?

Initially, an old diesel mechanic suggested adding the Lucas fuel treatment (or a dash of oil) to a tank of fuel. His reasoning was that diesel fuels don't have the same lubricating qualities they used to since sulfur levels have dropped, and the same should apply to gasoline with ethanol in it. I tried the Lucas stuff, and it made a difference, but not enough of one to keep using it.

Someone on the forum suggested trying a TC-W3 rated 2-stroke oil, so I did. I found that as little as 1oz makes a difference (about the same difference as 4-5oz of Lucas treatment), and ~2oz kills them completely. It does not effect performance at all. I have not had any catalytic converter or O2 sensor issues either, and using such a small amount, I don't expect I will.

It might take 5+ years, but I bet you will eventually have issues. It doesn't take much to destroy cats.

I think I stand alone as someone that doesn't care about the cricket noise at all. My car started doing it within 12 hours of bringing it home from the dealer.

Once one of our master mechanics once mentioned to me that gas with ethanol and methanol content don have the same lubricating qualities as the gas with out... In summary as a result using a gas with ethanol content for an extended period of time may dry up the internal seals for the high pressure direct injection system and cause failures...
It seems like its a clever idea Roddy... I talked to him again he still recommends the Shell 91 and mentioned 2-stroke oil is made to mix with fuel and that the ski-doo manufacturers are also moving away from adding 2-stroke oil... Bottom line as @pushrod say you might have issues with the O2 and cats... But I hope not... So let us know if there is any issues... By the way did you know what BMW is having the similar issues if not the same with their direct injection systems? They also recommend shell 91.
