Like a couple of others here have mentioned (and I've said before) I'm not going to own a car a can't or shouldn't drive. Because of that probably the closest thing to an exotic car I would own is a top of the line C7 or the upcoming C8 Corvette.

If I was to venture into the "true" exotic range though, a Ferrari would be on the list.

I would. I probably wouldn't hold onto them for very long unless I had something very special.

Buying something used when they bottom out in the market, put some miles on it and sell and move onto the next one.

Yes, I would then modify it and do mad skids.

After it bored me I would sell and start the whole process over again.

Same as I do now, just on a grander scale.

If it were a significant expense for me, then probably not. If I were rich AF and had the income to keep it going, then probably something from Ferrari or McLaren.

Honestly if I had the money for a new exotic, I'd either get a Lotus Elise or Evora and lightly modify it. Maybe an M2 and have fun.

Elise aren't very expensive at all. It's just hard to find one that isn't beat up.

Do you mean an Evora or an Exige for that second one?

An Exige would be nice too. In fact, I'll take every Lotus model!

I used to desperately want an Elise until I sat in one. Directly in front of my line of sight, the top of the windshield. It was worse than a Miata, which is only a bit above my line of sight. Also the Elise is ridiculously difficult to get in and out of. Stupidly so.

I still wouldn't mind a Lotus 7 or similar, but I'd probably not drive it much. The FRS is plenty raw for me.

Realistically, right now I'm thinking Taycan "Turbo", but I'd rather have the Cayenne equivalent EV Turbo. I do more bombing up badly designed sidewalk cuts than racing.

I'm 5'9" and if I'm in the front row at a light, I have to bend down to see the light. 100% true on getting in and out, especially out. Elise are way easier with the top off. The hard top on the Exige makes it more difficult. But, once you are in, it is like a cockpit.

There are plenty of past for sale posts on the Lotus board where guys reluctantly are selling because they just can no longer get in and out. I am going to dread the day it happens to me. It is by far the most fun car I have ever owned.
