I wonder if the manufacturer of the last mat will be sued by Apple once they find out. This design definitely infringed one of their design patents.... yeah right.

bizzare stories from the Charlotte police blotter:
Lost in Transit: A west Charlotte woman called police last week after her daughter was "misplaced" on a city bus. The mother told officers that her 14-year-old daughter missed the bus to school, so instead of driving the girl to class she told her to catch the city bus that stops on their street. Within a matter of minutes after getting onto the CATS bus, the daughter called her mom from an unknown cell phone to say she had no idea where she was. Out of the Woodworks: A police officer arrested a man in the University area last week after seeing him drag a deer carcass out of the woods. The officer stopped him and found marijuana in his pockets. Apparently he had been hunting while stoned in the woods off IBM Drive. In an unrelated incident, an officer working in Charlotte Douglas International Airport was ordered to search for a man who was hunting in the woods less than a mile from where planes were taking off. Rude Awakening: A 24-year-old woman called police after her car was broken into — while she was in it. The woman told officers that she was napping in her truck near her job when someone tried to open the passenger door. She jumped and startled the man, who told her he had a weapon and grabbed her purse before fleeing the scene. Parking Wars: Police responded to an assault call in the parking lot of a shopping center off of South Tryon Street last week after two men fought over a parking spot. When police arrived, they found the two men brawling in front of a crowd. To nobody's surprise, neither of the men could agree on who threw the first punch. Cutter: A man tried to sacrifice his own body to spite his wife last week and ended up going to jail for it. Police arrived at the couple's south Charlotte home after receiving a domestic disturbance call. When officers got to the house, the man was bleeding from a knife wound and told them that his wife had stabbed him. After she told them that he had cut himself in order to put her in jail, he admitted that she was telling the truth. He was arrested and charged with providing false statements to police. Threat of the Week: A 40-year-old woman filed a report after being threatened by some gang members on South Boulevard near a light rail station. She said she recognized the gang members and told her son to run and get on the light rail before they arrived. When they reached her they began threatening her son in Spanish, saying, "Tell that diaper that he isn't allowed to walk around or be in this area." It probably sounded much more menacing in the original language. |

Went to Lowe's and still can't find M8 1.25 60mm or longer bolt. They had standard size bolts like crazy... but not metric. Welcome to USA

There's always a small drawer of metric bolts with NO selection. Oh how I've done that mile-long stare wandering the halls of Lowe's and Home Depot...

Hey ichi, I've ran into that same problem dozens of times with the 86 over the past year. Have probably spent close to $200 at home depot just in new hardware, lol.
Anywho, I've found that on some occasions a -fine- threaded standard will work with the metric threading without fubaring it. I'm not sure if its because the threading on whatever is on the ae86 is basically rusted to crap anyways so it doesn't matter (highly likely), but it still worked. That's how my JDM rear bumper is currently being held in place. Its done well so far. But yeah, we've all had to bite the bullet and go pay $5 for a $0.50 piece of hardware. Sucks. |
