I did a track day a couple weeks ago and suddenly after I can hear the supercharger whine, whereas before it was almost silent. I've been running daily for almost 2 years now. Any thoughts?

So found out that most likely symptom for my situation of how I somehow lost power down to 235whp / 195wtq when I have:

- Edelbrock SC (3.00" Pulley)
- JDL 4-1 EL Header
- JDL 2.5" Overpipe
- Stock Front Pipe
- TRD CatBack
- DW 700cc Port Fuel Injectors
- Delicious Tune

Is because my cams are inactive when doing pulls. Is this a mechanical problem or can this be fixed with a tune?

Cuz I did a couple 0-60 times and these are my results. I'd say that 234whp / 195wtq on an AT, this sounds about right.

Out of curiosity, how do your cams know they are on a dyno?

Are you hearing the whining at idle? at a specific rpm or range of rpms? How much louder is it compared to before your track day? Maybe you can take a video?

It's hard to make an assessment since it can be anywhere from nothing to bearing failure.

Gotta let the cams activate first!

That being said, your dyno curve does not reflect that of a car without cam phasing. Got a log?

The whine is more pronounced through the entire RPM range. It doesn't sound abnormal in nature just louder. I can hear it over my straight through uncatted exhaust. I'll try to get vids later, I'm out sick today.

So am I understanding this right.. if I already have ecutek on my car, I need to buy the version of the kit without the tune?

If you're going to a custom tune other than the CARB tune, then you'd buy the kit without the tune. Your current tune wouldn't be the right one to use I'm assuming, so you'll have to get a new one for the Edelbrock - either from them or someone else.

The tune is available for every owner. You'd be buying the kit "without tuner" as they put it, aka without ecutek.

Are there any updates regarding the release of the kit for the 2017+? I remember reading in this thread sometime last year that a kit for the 2017 cars was coming soon.

It's just that I will be in CA in a couple months or so near some of the reputable dealers/installers and I was hoping I could have the kit installed for the warranty...After that I probably won't be near any of the installers in the foreseeable future and I'd probably have to either do it myself or take it to a dealership or ASE tech who probably have less experience with superchargers than the installers.

I haven't heard anything recently, and I've been waiting anxiously too. I assume they must be waiting on CARB approval or something because I don't think the hardware updates would have taken this long.

Yeah you have to get up to temp first.....

Also that TRD exhaust will limit your power. It has a 2" section with a neck down to 1 3/4". Designed for a stock engine. I just replaced mine and was surprised how small it gets... Now I have full 2 1/2" all the way out.

You will need at least full 2 1/2" to to maximize the supercharger and the extra boost. Spend a little more and finish the exhaust...

Send delicious a data log to make sure every thing is cool.

Edelbrock sent a replacement throttle body harness and it didn't have any change. The shop is waiting on a known good throttle body they can sub mine with to try and isolate the problem. Right now, there's a mismatch between the throttle position sensor and the throttle body. They're saying the first inch of travel with the pedal registers as a zero.
