Nah. It could be a pain in the ass and they could leak no mater what you did but they could also work fine. I just like the flange and gasket system better as it is a bit more forgiving.

I still remember laying under cars cutting up pop cans and using hose clamps haha. It can't be that bad.

I'm getting an axleback so I'm guessing it'll take longer to jack up the car...

Soup cans were better. They had those ridges in the side.
Ya the good old day when exhaust systems may last 5 years before rotting through and falling off. They don't make em' like they used to!

Soups cans would last like 10 times longer! Why did we not do that??

You obviously didn't drive as many junkers as I did. The list was long for a while there. My Chevy Citation exhaust was probably about 20% soup cans, exhaust sealent and hose clamps.

Just let exhaust bits rot away with rust, and get sporty loud exhaust for free! Some weight savings too, after muffler falls off.

Your ever hear an 81 Citation with no muffler? There isn't anything "sporty" abut it.

I had about 5 or 6 clunkers before getting a company truck. Had a truck forever...I had a RX-7 for a bit, which was nice.

It was another 30+ years before I bought a car, the FR-S

Thanks !!!
Interesting you're full catless so you just need something quieter than the N1, don't skimp on an exhaust that doesn't have a gasket or vband. If I could make a reccomendation based on what I'm running, the nameless 3 inch axleback is quite good with the 5 inch mufflers and my current UEL but 3 inches wasn't worth it. You should probably get the nameless axleback with 5 inch mufflers and 2.5 inch exhaust and go back to the stock pipe that leads to the muffler section from the front pipe.

Did you do any performance testing to see if tomato soup cans produced more power than cream of chicken soup cans?
