Exhaust from quiet to loudest

Hi everyone. Hope this is in the right topic. Looking at exhausts right now. I do want something in between quiet and stupid loud. Still want the loudness when I want but something still reasonable that wont piss off the neighbors.

If you guys can list these from quietest to loudest that would be great. Couldn't find a post that compare sound level on a scale.

Invidia N1
Invidia r400
Invidia q300
Corsa
Borla
Mxp Comp RS
Perrin 2"
Perrin 3"

Thanks in advance for your responses!

I picked up a Arc Grip 2.5" catback, it's loudish, but all base, not droney or tinny.

I do have a SME 2.5" resonated front pipe, and a AVO turbo, both these knock down the volume.

I had a Q300 on my STI, it droned like 10 droney things.

Go to a few meets, go to a few track days, asking people what exhausts sound like is like asking people what their favorite pie is, obviously it's apple pie, but "some people" would disagree.

HKS Hi-Power Ver.2 or their Spec-L would be great for you. You're in CA, so I assume you won't be doing headers?

Invidia n2 is not as loud as the n1 but still louder than q300 and r400 with a much deeper tone to it.

TRD is a nice muffled roar. Not too loud. Seems to fit the car

My best guess at loudest to most quiet. R400 and Corsa are about the same from hearing a friends compared to my Corsa. I haven't heard a Borla in person but seems to be somewhere around the Perrin 3" maybe a tad louder.

A big thing to consider is drone and if you plan to add other exhaust mods in the future.

I opted for the Corsa. Not overly loud at WOT, basically stock at cruise, zero drone. No fiberglass in the mufflers. Their unique reflective sound cancelation tech is nifty, but require a catted header/front pipe to work properly. Not a good catback for catless headers.

if you are doing solely a catback, there is nothing you can to do make it stupid loud. if you do a catless header+catless front pipe+catback then it will be unbearable.

i have a N1 with stock header+stock front pipe
the the n1 is typically called the most aggressive catback

Awesome thanks. I decided to get the corsa. Though why do you say it's not good with a catless header and front pipe? Is it just stupid loud with catless?

I do love the corsa. Love the zero drone but it's still pretty loud when going WOT. I was so happy to get rid of the stock one. Not sure what was wrong with it but it droned like crazy. Others commented that something was wrong with the stock one.

I have catless header/FP and catback barely louder then stock. People who ride in my car don’t realize i have a modified exhaust especially if just cruising.

ACE250, hks double res FP, and mxp csg touring86, great combo.

It will depend on your header and front pipe. Which header and front pipe do you run?

I made the post so I could decide what catback to get as I wanted something in the middle to louder side but not over the top loud. Decided to go with Corsa and love it though not sure how it will be in a couple years when I decide to do a header and front pipe
