I think that was directed at me? I'm on RCE Tarmac 2's with 400/400 spring rates. Suffice to say I can definitely handle aggressive tires with my suspension setup. I run RE-71R's for Autocross and HPDE stuff. In the past I've run Michelin PSS and Continental ECS for my street tires. But it seems like some of the UHP Summer tires can offer similar performance for significantly less coin. The Indy 500, FK510, and G-MAX RS all look promising for regular street duty.

theyre a 340 treadwear ultra high performance summer tire, slays in the rain too. it is possible to out drive them on a track, but you literally cannot buy more tire for the money. its what i dd with occasional track days.

they were initially recommended for dd w/ track days to me buy a pro racing instructor at monticello, a private membership only track in upstate ny. like jerry seinfeld is a member there lol. they are top notch racing instructors so i took his word when he said you cannot buy more tire for the price.

@HaXx I like the wide tread on those! They’re symmetrical too which is a plus for me.

I run General Tires AS-05's on both of my vehicles, no complaints. Before these tires were available I ran two sets of AS-03's on my last vehicle.

I have those too and not only is it no complaints I have nothing but good things to say about them. They're far more pleasant than the Conti EC was, they're easily as grippy, better in the rain and they're quieter. They also seem to be wearing better and they are more predictable on cold pavement, no snow yet to try them in that but I have very low expectations so it shouldn't be hard to exceed them.

Indy 500's are a great value proposition. They have stiffer sidewalls which should keep them relatively responsive.

I scored a set of MPS4S in stock size for an absolute steal with 85% tread. Zero complaints about them, tons of grip in all conditions. They even gripped well when temps got down to 5-10c before throwing on the snows. Cost of replacement is the only real downside as they are expensive.

The FK510 seems to be aimed at sport/luxury market. A grippy tire that has a bit less sidewall stiffness. If I went Falken I'd probably go with the RT615k+. Looked briefly at those but a 200TW tire is a bit much for daily use.

I'll second (or third?) the Indy 500's. I put a set of 225/45/17 on the PP wheels. I got them for $94 a tire direct from Firestone. They retain the playful nature of the stock Primacy's but the grip is waaaaay more predictable. Can't speak to their capability in the wet yet as I'm in California ands it's dry 9 months out of the year.
