I voted for the FR-S; maybe because I just don't much like change, maybe because the FR-S looks cleaner/crisper to me.

They put an additional body line on the side? I just noticed this
Either way I still prefer original, much smoother. New ones looks so try hard doesnt even look that good. They make the front grille wider but it doesn't even function. Look the wider parts is just blocked off. The rear "diffuser" has extra line looks busy. The fake vents under the headlight is now flowing in the wrong direction.

I couldn't figure out why they screwed up the front bumper on this car, but now I see what they're doing. That weird new nose is aligning the car visually with the FT-1 concept:
This way, when the FT-1 comes to market, that sharp nose won't look completely foreign. I suspect the next redesign of the 86 will have an even sharper nose to fill in the gap between this refresh and the FT-1. It will look like a natural evolution of the style they already established. |

The only thing i prefer on the new one is not having stupid chrome back headlights (yay for a simple fix) same goes for the tail lights. I never liked the altezza look on any car though.

They can't make that car look too much like the 86, because that car is designed to be reminiscent of the old Datsun Sports 1000, Austin Healey Sprite, Triumph TR4, etc. These were small cars with big smiling grills. If they mess with the front end of that car too much, they'll lose that market niche. |

Great thread OP
The new updated version is just too busy. From the scowling turtle front end to the cluttered fender, it just looks a mess. The back end is an improvement on the new one though. |

I went with GT86 for now. I may change my mind once I see the 86 in person. A lot changes from a rendering to reality.

From an SF-R article:
"It also manages to look sporty and athletic without resorting to the usual crutch of giving it an absurdly aggressive face." Added: I'd buy an SF-R in a second. SF-R becomes the entry, the 86 moves up to about 33K. What is so hard about keeping the body clean and simple? Last edited by CatScan; 03-28-2016 at 12:17 PM. |

I like the visual changes on the new car other than the front bumper, which looks like my little niece just as she's about to cry.
