As much as the Soarer/LS is a 4 seat Supra.

Turbo engines in JDM cars are common. USDM always reserved turbos for the "performance" level cars.

Even the JMD S13 received an underpowered, but peppy, CA18DET while the US got a 2.4L SOHC engine from the pickup.

I'm excited to see a Supra in person, I'll take one out for a drive for sure. Spend plenty of money at the dealership, even bought my BRZ used off their lot. Test drive shouldn't be any problem.

I'm liking the 4 door supra render. If they did that, but made it a toyota, I'd buy one for sure.

For the Benz C-class 2-door sedan, yeah, it's marketing to people who equate 2 doors with "sporty". That car is on the same wheelbase as the 4-door.

But the Supra's proportions are totally functional and not for "appearance". No way for a 4-door or 2+2 version without substantially lengthening the wheelbase by moving the rear wheels way aft, which would redistribute weight to the front and also add a fair amount of weight and also likely reduce chassis stiffness. Big big compromises for a sports car...

Agreed 100%. 4 door to 2+2 is easy enough. Adding 2 doors is one thing, adding 2 seats is something else entirely.

Maybe you end up with doors like an rx8. Ew.

Not to distract from future 4-door convertible dualie pick-up Supra discussion, but I just finished the latest Car and Driver.

I'd like to thank whatever software engineer at Toyota allowed for brake-throttle overlap in the tuning so us left-footers don't get screwed by the safety sense BS for people who can't drive. Arrigato!!

Glad it found a virtual home.

Honestly, I just can't get past it's looks. I just think if it had any other badge on it (say GM or Ford) it would be in the "Aztec Ugly" class of car. All personal opinion of course.
