Did they try anything else first? How many miles were on te car when you brought it in? Which warranty was it covered under, powertrain?

They didn't happen to say which warranty it was under did they? I am at 53,000 miles so I only have the power train warranty remaining, I assume it would be covered under that as part of the transmission…?

Years ago, I had a Civic that did this, and it took me a while to figure it out. I tried to lube the pivot point where the rod from the slave cyl meets the clutch fork, and that would mask the issue for a bit, but it would always come back. Eventually, I flushed out the "clutch fluid" and replaced it with new brake fluid. The noise went away and never came back. A co-worker had this issue with his Civic last year, and I suggested he try the same thing. He did and the noise went away.
I don't know why it works (probably something to do with brake fluid being hygroscopic and absorbing moisture from the air), but it has for me in the past, and I'm betting new fluid will make a difference. For the $5 worth of fluid and a few minutes of your time, it is worth a try before dismissing the idea.

I tried this but unfortunately it hasn't worked for me :/ I'm gunna try the gob of grease on the main pivot as per Ultramaroon & see what happens then.

Thanks for posting back...it was worth a try. Mine is squeak free for the time being. Probably a good idea to change the fluid every couple of years anyway. Let us know if lubing the pivot point takes care of it for you.

@roddy - no worries pal, it's definitely worth trying & besides I'm not of the dealers opinion the clutch fluid needn't ever be changed !

I've had this problem for at least 2 years now(started around 40K), up now at 72k. It will slightly resurface its ugly head here and there but mostly I just feel the grittiness of the clutch pedal.

Clutch peddle loud squeak

Cable would be my first guess, it may have stretched a bit or something. Can you start it in gear with your foot on the clutch?

Using Google translate, it seems this article might be relevant: "Clutch release bearing abnormal noise".

Didn't realize you can remove that metal part of the transmission.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to give my success story on this.

My clutch began squeaking maybe 5,000 miles ago. I now have 41,000 on my car. It was quiet, but then ended up being super loud, just like in the video of the original poster and probably what most of you are experiencing. Took my car in and explained how others were having the same issue as myself. They seemed to be a little hesitant at first, as the sound somehow stopped squeaking after we dropped it off. We mentioned the clutch fork and throw out bearing, etc. Ended up having the transmission replaced under warranty. My car was in the shop for less than a week. I have the paper with everything replaced on it. Squeak is gone, and my clutch feels like new. Only thing I paid for was the clutch plate, but I didn't have an issue as I saw their receipt after everything was said and done. :0

I went in the dealership expecting to be told it was "normal" but I am very pleased with everyone there.

If anyone has any questions, message me and hopefully I can help. This is pretty much my second post here as I have been lurking around hehe.
