I agree with OICU812.
Been through 4 different fluid changes.

The Motul is the go to for warmer/hot stable climates.
But like most of these fluids, the don't do well in the cold, very notchy until they get heat.

The Pentosin is the best fluid so far in the 0-50F range.

But more importantly from being around the forums now long enough and driving dozens of these cars, it's my belief there is some vast variances in the assembly of these gearboxes. The quality variance is all over the map. Which is why you see some saying this is the worst gearbox, and others like myself praise it.

I have been in cars that just don't shift smooth in 4-6th, some that don't even go into 2-3rd smoothly, some that are perfectly smooth all of the time. This could be exactly why one fluid works for one car and not so well for another.

I am using Redling MT90 (and 75-90 in the diff), a friend is using Motul Gear 300 (and it's variant in the diff). We're both pretty happy, but I've noticed things feel smoother after 10k miles. We both live in Denver and have seem some very cold temps (not insane cold, but single digit F). They are a little notchy and hesitant in 1st & 2nd when it's first really cold, but after leaving my neighborhood (about a mile) it's significantly better.

I've heard great things about the Pentosin MTF2, but being on the thin side, I am still a little weary of it at high temps and high stress (summer track day, etc). If we get some long term wear reports and oil analysis from some heavy track users, my skepticism will dissolve.

I don't drive car in winter. Spring and fall morning temps however are 30-40 deg f. This is as @Dezoris mentions I believe. For record I tried Redline MTL, then Motul 300, then back to stock fill and now and staying with Pentosin MTF2. Even after all fluids were warm and haven driven for over half hour the 300 still for my car presented struggling in shifting. I can not explain why and was dissapointed is all. Whether it's as been discussed the tolerances and differences again I'm not certain but for now I'll use what works the very best.

My car presently has around 8k miles on it perhaps as it is used more I'll retry other fluids.

I posted a UOA of it after 15k miles including winter and track usage FYI.

We include all of the crush washers with out Motul maintenance packages.

If you're purchasing just Gear300, please let us know if you need the OEM crush washers

I have been using the Redline MT-90 shifts are nice and its good for the brass synchros as it lacks the reactive sulfurs that damage them.

The bottle has a spout so no need for a fluid pump. It satisies the OEM weight specifications. T
These factors combined with their very good reputation and good reports in those using it in tranny and diff probably make Motul Gear 300 the best overall choice. But others have pointed out some other fine oils that satisfy the OEM requirements as well.

The only thing I would NOT do is deviate from OEM spec on the fluids unless directed to do so by your mechanic.

I like it that I don't need new gasket washers for the transmission. The factory washer gaskets are just fine for reuse. It's the diff gaskets, iirc, that must be replaced.
