I find these reviews really curious. Is there a lot of flex in the OEM part? Could this be an upgrade for even a stock clutch?

Yes, that is our thoughts behind it. We've had a customer who couldn't disengage the clutch at all (FX500 I think?). Installed ours and the clutch operated again. Clutch fork showed zero signs of stress/bending/fatigue when he pulled it out.

I wouldn't go as far to say that it will improve a stock clutch, but it's plausible. I would, however, recommend this as a precautionary/preventative maintenance item for anyone installing a high-performance clutch though. No one really enjoys dropping or paying to have the transmission dropped.

Calling @The Racers Line for another testimonial as he just installed one and had to purchase another one immediately because it completely changed the way the clutch operates.

Thank you guys, we really appreciate the love and this project in general .
Eric

I've been curious about this too, as the clutch is probably the most numb driver interface in this car - shockingly so. If replacing the fork makes that big of a difference in how the clutch actuates, how it feels - it'd be an interesting experiment to find out how it changes a stock clutch. I know it'd likely be a subjective test, but it'd still be interesting.

You'll see a major difference when you install this kit AND upgraded clutch kit. You'll need to take out the trans out anyways, mind as well replace it the clutch.

BUT if you still wondering this kit will make a difference with OEM clutch. Answer will be yes... but a big difference? Not really.

Isn't the stock clutch is also made by Exedy? The Toyobaru specification must have included concessions for very casual MT drivers.

Remove the clutch spring. Eric wrote up a thread on it; it's a 15 minute job and easily reversible if you end up not liking it. With no spring helping you push the pedal, the interface becomes much more direct.

It is, but OEM spec is lower than Stage 1 spec.

Besides possibly having the ability to handle less torque, can you describe what you mean by "lower"?
