KW V3 help??

So i got a good deal on some gently used kwv3 coilovers. The guy i got them from had not adjusted them, or so he says, but they were in a funky state when i got them. So trying to get these setup to a stockish setup so i can go from there and make adjustments.

Question i have, everything seems to be going into place, except for the bottom bump adjustment on the front axle struts., trying to set them to full hard (clockwise) and back of from there, but turning them clockwise just seems to go forever...all the other adjustments gave some resistance at a certain point, these just turn forever it seems. I tried counting and so far was able to turn one clockwise over 100 clicks, and still nothing.

Anyone have any experience with these and adjusting the bottom rebound on the front struts?

Thanks for any help. got my car in pieces and trying to finish this weekend.

Send a message via AIM to Racecomp Engineering
Something is wrong. You should not be able to turn the adjuster 100 clicks. Call KW.

Bottom is compression adjustment btw, top is rebound.

Damn, that sucks. I was worried they were not right. Looks like the guy screwed me. No wonder he sold them to me cheap. Really crappy move on his part if that's the case.

You can try getting in touch with @robispec to get them custom valved to his spec, although the KW V3 have lifetime warranty from the factory.

Any idea if the lifetime warranty is valid even if not the original owner? Or will I need receipt and t something.

Thanks for all the help.

No idea tbh, never had experience with this. Best bet would probably be to contact KW USA:

KW's lifetime warranty only stays with the original purchaser. I'd tell the guy you bought them from that he screwed you over, but the issue can be fixed, it just has to be under his name. KW will likely request the shock(s) in question to be shipped back to KW to get fixed or replaced, but it will have to be done by the original purchaser. If you contact KW and say you bought them used, they will not cover any damages or defects etc...

Hope you can dispute it via Paypal. Those are definitely broken as mine did not do that. You have to be careful not to break the valve on the tops when adjusting rebound. I don't know how they managed to break the compression on the bottom unless they violently forced it.

Not paypal. Paid cash to a local guy from our car club. I have been sending him messages for days now, and he hasnt responded once. Sucks. But at least he is local, so maybe i can take care of it. I told him i just want my money back, and then he can send them in on his own and get them fixed.

Better for me to just pay more and get them new with a full warranty. I just hope he offers to take them back. Would be pretty crappy if he doesnt. Especially since he can have them fixed for free on his side.
