It is great to see multiple forced induction options in the works. I went through this same feeding frenzy when the 2010 Camaro came out. By the time SEMA rolls around this fall there will be a lot of cool stuff coming out just in time to get out there for the spring driving season.

This was really the only thing I wanted to address. As I recall the trd sc for the tc had a lot of problems in the early models, but other than that it was a solid buy later on.

I'm so excited for this. I was really hoping they would step up, but all the rumors / insiders initially told me they weren't getting into it... Guess you can't "know" everything.

A stock GM LS3 motor with a bolt on Vortech supercharger will get you 600whp all day long. Let's see how they deal with the direct injection and 12.5:1 compression

Turbo's certainly arent for everyone but I get the feeling they are going to chew the FI market for BRZ to shreds, Vortech will need a low low price as the power they will achieve certainly wont come close to the what we are seeing from the turbo kits.

Yeah I completely agree with you, if the SC market isn't 1.5-2k cheaper than a turbo option, i really don't see that market growing. I understand they are geared towards two different drivers, but in reality, why get a lower powered option, when you get the more power for the same price.

If there are SCs that come out around 3-4k then i think it would be reasonable, but I really don't see that happening.

Usually SC kits are easier to install and maintain. Also the linear power band is a huge appeal. Turbos lag, and always will that's just a fact.

Maybe large turbo applications, but not what is currently out for this vehicle. And with a centrifigul supercharger, yes, the power will be linear, but it won't make any of that power until the higher end of the RPM band. I know on the S2k's the Vortec's don't even start seeing boost until about 4.5-5k rpms. The power on a turbo will always come on faster than a centrifigul, especially for this car. We don't have a large volume V8 with gobbs of torque to keep us happy until the boost comes on. I don't understand why "turbo lag" is still talked about. This isn't an 86 Mitsubishi Starion. Yes, high boost, large tubo applications will have plenty of lag. But most of the kits for this car are aiming for quick throttle response and a smooth torque curve that still pulls all the way to redline.

I honestly don't care if it costs more than a turbo kit; I want a supercharger, not a turbo! (OK, I'm not made of money. I do care a little.)

This kind of comment is what turns people off from buying a product, based off fiction. If you have a properly sized turbo, you should not experience much lag, if any at all.

Neither one of your statements are valid, as while SC can be easier to install, they can add additional stress to engine components, which can cause sooner service intervals.
