Not sure if serious or trolling.

Also not sure if SK is satire.

No just annoying. In fact he usually shows a total lack of knowledge in every video I have seen. This one is no exception.

He hasn’t expanded his knowledge with modern tech and always shows old school bias with lack of understanding of fundamental principles. Just in this video is says a bunch of eye roll things. I think it was a while back he talks about how boxers are worse for fuel mileage.

He mentions not to buy a Subaru auto even though the twins use an Aisin sourced by Toyota.

Boxers are known for torque.
Unique boxer sound.

I can see he has had a lot of experience working on a lot of different cars and he knows a lot of old time mechanics tricks. It's just that otherwise he comes across sort of abnoxious with the hand waving stuff. Maybe that's why he does videos rather than run a full time shop.
Incidentally, his knowledge is broad and what you might hope for from a really experienced general mechanic. There are so many youtubers now that list off most reliable, least reliable, what things to avoid, how to fix or when to walk away etc etc. I watched as many of Scottys videos as I could tolerate. He's not the only annoying car video blogger.
Not by a longshot. And he could help an average person avoid making costly mistakes.

I can build leaf springs, doesn’t make me expert on suspension design. Same thing we are saying about him.

Not defending him, he is goofy but for an average non-enthusiast that wishes to gain general knowledge re maintenance, repairs, buying pre-owned cars or how many miles you can expect from certain common wearing components it's free info mostly passing the mustard. That's better than simply relying on the service writer at a dealer or service centre. His comments do stand up to criticism if on the comments if there's a big inaccuracy, but the guy at the local shop has you as a captive audience, no scrutinizing.

Sorry enthusiasts, but you're not the only people concerned about their $$ and time and making car related decisions.
But again, he is kinda obnoxious. Not the guy I'd look to for new car reviews but maybe he's running short of material lol

DUDE
He can't even be bothered to show the right oil pickups for the 22s. He keeps flashing the 2013 parts. He also likes to push his opinion as fact when often he is way off base.
You can listen to whomever you wish but he would be way, wat down my list of recommended viewing.
