Which OEM oil filter? Subaru or Toyota?

I know that Subaru and Toyota have been doing the bait n switch of the Japan made oil filters (15208AA130) for the BRZ/FRS with "inferior" alternatives. My question is, do the dealerships still carry the black "made in Japan" Subaru oil filter or has both brands strayed to using an "inferior" version?

I recently bought three of the black original ones at my local Subaru dealer, so I think you can still get them.

Here guys do yourself a favor and stock up. I bought the 12 pack but of course sold the car and wound up giving them all away. This is as cheap as a deal you will get on the Tokyo Roki (Japanese Made Filter)

A few months ago, I went into Toyota and asked what filter they had for the FRS. They busted out a black filter, identical to the Subaru toyo roki OEM filter..but with Toyota branding. I was super skeptical, but I've used it for the past 4000 miles no problem.
When I went to Subaru of Irvine I picked up 3 OEM Subaru filters anyways just because I have trust issues.

Are they just phasing them out in Noth America or is the Japanese supplier not making them anymore?

For those that don't want to buy a whole case, I just ordered 3 of the Toyota part number 90915YZZS1 filters for 16.80 with free shipping. You get 2 filters at $6 each and get the third for 20% off. That ends up being only $5.60 each shipped. It was on Ebay from a Toyota dealer (see link below). The pictures I've seen of this filter is that they are the same black filter with Subaru markings that everyone is looking for. We shall see. My local Subaru dealer no longer carries the original black ones and is pushing off the cheap Fram blue ones. They even look stupid in the oil filter housing being that much skinnier than the black ones.

Ok, so the filters were delivered yesterday (much quicker than I expected coming from the east coast). These are definitely Toyota filters, not the OEM Subaru filters that I was hoping for. So it looks like both Subaru and Toyota are abandoning the original 15208aa130 filter that our cars came with. Subaru dealers are now replacing this with their skinny blue Fram-made filter (15208aa12a I think) while Toyota has their own filter too. This one is black and is the same diameter as the original but it is slightly shorter. It looks good from a quality perspective--very similar to the original. I'm sure it will work just fine but I wanted to let everyone know how this turned out. I'm guessing that the 15208aa130 filters will slowly fade away once inventory has been depleted as both Subaru and Toyota are going their separate ways when it comes to their replacement filter.

Once they are gone. I would just go with Wix/Napa gold filters.

I didn't know the 15208AA130 was being phased out, might as well stock up now.

Thanks,
I just placed order for 12pack bundle plus 4 more added so I got free shipping. 16 filters + 16 gaskets for $99.32 LOL
I hope they ship me correct one. Last time I ordered through local dealer using original part number, but they end up giving me new denso filter.
