I came to my BRZ from a 2013 Golf R. Great car. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Congratulations!!!

Thanks! I got one of the Pre-Order Launch Editions (1 of 500) that you reserved in January. I believe the remaining 2015MY will be out in the coming months in very limited quantities - I heard only 1 per Dealer nationally. Later this year will be the 2016's...

I'm really impressed with it so far. It's got a LOT of potential...

Haven't fully decided to part the kit yet. I might if the vehicle doesn't sell soon. I do have one more interested party ahead of you though. I'll add you to the list

Cool! Now I remember reading something about a pre-order launch. I got my R for roughly $35.5k out the door. I can't imagine what it cost you to get such a pre release version.

Some of the things I loved most about my R:

- adaptive bi-xenon headlights
- headlight washers
- the utility of a 4 door hatch
- Ross Tech VAG-COM cable and software. There are so many convenience features that can be "unlocked" using the cable and software. Use your key fob to open the window and sunroof as you approach your car during the hot summers. Priceless.
- soundoktor i know its artificial but it creates some beautiful in car engine noise
- nice interior and solid chassis feel. I understand the new chassis is even stiffer

The only thing that bothered me was the understeer and inability to defeat the traction control, but I think that's been fixed.

If you haven't checked out VWVortex.com you should. There's another forum, but I can't remember the name of it right now.

Enjoy!!!

Thanks! I know VWVortex well. I had a 1.8T GLI with the old BBS rims and recaro bucket seats. That was right before they enlarged the body on the GLI, which I traded my 1.8T in for since that was the first year they had the DSG. Love the new DSG. I missed the DSG.

There was another VWVortex forum member that worked at a killer dealer at a San Diego dealership. Because of that, the dealership got 9 pre-orders delivered including mine. Third largest in the USA. Basically, I got the car for $500 below invoice ($37,997 after destination fee). Killer deal if you ask me 😁

- Adaptive headlights are great. The "cornering lights" are even cooler!
- The LED DRL are great looking
- No rear LED tail lights, which was a miss by VW
- LOVE the utility of having a 4 door now with a baby on the way
- Extremely stiff chassis. The pre-order launch editions came fully loaded
- DCC = amazballs. You really notice an instant difference between "comfort" "normal" and "race" modes.
- Did I say awesome DSG? 8ms shift times people...
- Soundakator is OK. I want to turn it down about 50% and hear the engine more
- Understeer is almost non-existent with the Haldex
- ESC can be turned completely OFF!!!!
- It's got some serious get-up-and-go power.

I need to pick up the VAG-COM cable and start doing the little convenience things soon.

Also, there have been some initial companies releasing tunes for the MKVII Golf R and it is seriously putting a LOT of power down. You can turn this car into a crazy little monster with minimal mods. I think Revo has a Golf R that's clocked a 3.7 0-60 (I might be off a few tenths, but I know it's under 4 secs)

Good times to come! But I am going to miss the FRS 😔

Thanks for letting me know! It'll be a good incentive for me to start saving for it, used or new haha.

It's an amazing a must addition to the FRS. Truly transforms the car in a great way!

Yes but at least you know she's going to a good home. And she already has parts waiting to be bolted on her.
