Gnarly JRSC whine

Hello,
Background: I installed a USED JRSC in October 2018. When I first installed in there was a slight whistle. I daily and track the car.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MiSZMY6NYs"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MiSZMY6NYs[/ame]

Recently, the whine/whistle has gotten very loud, almost unbearable when driving the car with the windows down. I have no loss of power. The hoses to the supercharger are correctly installed. I don't know if its the actual supercharger or a separate pulley.

After reading another thread about this, one person said they had a bearing failure, I'm assuming in the supercharger. Since obviously I don't have warranty, am I totally boned and will have to buy another supercharger?

Sorry, you are totally boned my friend. Welcome to the failed Rotrex club! I would uninstall the supercharger if you want to keep driving it.

I believe there is a company that will rebuild these. Could save you a few bucks from buying a replacement.

Did you replace the whole thing or look into having it rebuilt?

Any idea what parts need to be replaced? What specific bearings or shafts? That website has a lot of parts

It is real easy. You need to replace that part that says "rotrex" on it.

Edit: and you have to replace everything in the rotrex cooling system. Basically the entire unit: cooler, lines oil tank, etc.

Why the cooling system? In case any particles got into it?

What did you need to provide for a warranty claim?
