COST REDUCTION!

My first car (1948 Chevrolet) had a speedometer, a fuel gauge, a temperature gauge and an amp meter. The AM radio had two knobs, one to turn it on and off and the other to tune into one of the three stations available (on a clear night).

I got along just fine - lots of time to pay attention to DRIVING the damn car!

Nothing is stopping you from going back to one of those. Well, except all 1983 Chevys have probably (and hopefully!) been destroyed by this point LOL.

So... is this thing any closer to being revealed in a production spec? ICE, hybrid, or EV? Or is the whole thing just a giant tease, yet more concepts that never reach production?

Seems you have it covered, so yes.

From what Toyota seems to be doing, they're making the transition to full hybrids before embracing full EV. So I'm guessing this will be hybrid. Their recent concepts seem to be production models hiding in plain sight...they just don't end up being what they were shown conceptually (like that big EV reveal they did about a year or 2 ago, almost all those "ev concepts" were actual production cars, just not all EV)
As long as Akio Toyoda still has power I'm guessing we're going to see it in production form one way or another. Dude likes his fun cars/sports cars.
