I would do it if you were close, but i'm all the way up in Canada. Buy a filing kit with small to large sized files, and a dremel with a cutting disc. If your confident in cutting your fenders sheet metal I would say you are more than capable of cutting and filing out the vents. I believe in you bro. It really is a simple process.

I might look into doing this on the small hole in the FR-S trim piece. It'd be one of the few times I go for form over function since such a small hole wouldn't be likely to do much of anything compared to the large area you're able to open up on the BRZ trim pieces. Fake/unused vents always bug me. Toyota used to do that a lot with their trucks and SUVs, and it always bugged me. If you're gonna put a scoop in the middle of the 4Runner's hood, just make a hole and put real mesh in there so it actually does something...or don't do it at all.

I did this about 2 years ago now. It definitely let's out hot air from the engine bay. You can see the heat waves when you're stopped haha. Just an added bonus that it looks way better too!

Edit: Hmm maybe not, I didn't realize these silly plastic pieces were selling for $200 plus.

I would, but I like my boxer badges. I even have a shirt that's similar in design.

See the little name in the corner? Blipshift(dot)com is where I got mine. Not trying to shill for them, but they do limited runs of shirts every few days, and popular ones like that one come back around once in a while, especially during the holidays. Sign up for their newsletter and you'll always know what they're offering and when.

I did this a couple years ago only I used a finer screen. I think I like the large screen better. I painted my screen gold to match my car's lettering.
