“And well, mostly because the contingency sticker is easier to put on“
That has a lot to do with it too actually lol. The BFG stickers are a huge PIA to put on vs the Bridgestone. |

Like others said, pick a tire and setup the car around it. I never liked how Bridgestones drove on the 128, so I chose BFGs for the FRS

What's everyone doing for brake pads? My Ferodo's are about done up front and maybe half left in the rear. Not sure if I want to go back to them again.
Will probably be doing some HPDE next month, so I'd like something that would handle that as well.

I ran on stock before I upgraded to BBK, didn't think the car needed better pads. What was your take on the DS2500? I've heard great things about them, was that what you had? What did you not like about your Ferodo?

I can see that on the BMW, have you tried the stones on the FRS yet?

I'm on PMu ns400 now, stock caliper, good street pad, but I'm pretty sure I've gotten a touch of fade on a big course on a hot day but 99/100 they've been great, big modulation range, and I probably was being an idiot that day over cooking the brakes. No way in hell it would survive a track day, I've got carbotech xp10 for track duty, which did pretty well for autox imho but were too loud for my DD, I wasn't keeping them bedded in, but I'm not taking my frs to the track with less pad than that. My dad has Gloc R6 on his car, great performance but still a bit obnoxious for DD, again probably not enough pad for hpde.
Seems like the hybrid pads are a bit too obnoxious for me, I was torn between ds2500, R6/AX6, and hc800+ but after hearing mixed things about the noise on the street for all of them I think I'll be sticking with sporty street pads for my next set, maybe stoptechs or winmax. I'd also love to hear pad opinions but I think most would agree you don't need much for autox, not every braking zone should be on abs. Lots of reviews in this thread, not many for autox but should help in picking out a pad regardless: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23680 |

Get two sets, one for the track and one for the street. The Hawk Street/Race (the HP+ replacement) worked well for me as a hybrid pad that actually worked at the track. Unfortunately, they don't seem to sell the shape I need for my AP Sprint kit.
I really like the Ferodo DS1.11 on the track and they work well for autox, but they are LOUD on the street (I've had multiple people pull forward at a red light when they heard me coming thinking that I was going to hit them). |

DS2500's, yes. I feel like they work well at higher speeds at more moderate pressures, but didn't feel the same immediacy at lower speeds with less pressure. I'm not much of a trailbraker, but do feel like they modulate well enough when new, but fades. They almost feel "boring" in a sense now, predictable and fine for daily, but at the last event, I found myself overshooting my braking zones cause I couldn't get the car to stop how I wanted. I'm sure that could also be some driver error, too.

I'm also curious as I can not seem to keep my AX6 quiet. Love the performance, great feel through the pressure range, really grippy at the edge... not so keen on the noise... Got to drive some Winmax W3 last year and that very short impression was good, but I'm not sure how they are on noise.

I use hp+ front and rear for street, autocross and track. They grab slightly too hard for autocross but I like them. Of course they're obscenely loud on the street most of the time and they dust like crazy. I find that they can be good on the track depending on your skill, the track, and your tires. I've only had any fade once on the last couple laps of a long day.

I’ve been using Winmax W3’s for street and Autocross and they’ve been great. The initial bite isn’t as strong as some pads, but the modulation and overall stopping power is amazing. After bedding them in they’re pretty quiet most of the time. Using shims has helped a lot too. The only real downside is they dust a lot.

Dusting any worse than the DS2500? Sort of leaning w3 atm.

If it’s in your budget, you might want to consider Endless MX72 pads. They’re supposed to be the ultimate hybrid pad with 0-700C operating temp combined with minimal noise and dust. That’s probably what I’ll go with once my W3’s are done.
