Call it 1.7oz for the first time. Still 0.13oz per gallon after that.

That's a lot less than the 4oz of Lucas oil that NICOLA is adding every fill up. Even double that to 1:500 is only 2.6oz for a 10gal fill up but best to use the minimum needed to hopefully shut it up.
Just to add; Lucas Oil says to use 3 oz. for every 10 gallons. I use 4 oz. because we have slightly over a 13 gallon tank. Basically, 1 oz. for every 3.33 gallons of gas. Also, Lucas claims that over treatment (adding more then recommended) will not hurt the engine or other parts in any way. I try to keep it at 3 to 4.

It has been helping I think. However, last week when I filled up with Mobile gas things started up again. The chirp is dying down to near non-existence, but it shows up now and again since that day. I think I need to really purge my fuel tank to very low levels to get rid of that Mobile gas. Who can say? I just know that I had no issues after getting the new pump and using BP gas exclusively with Lucas Oil. The moment I used Mobile.....Bang!!! Crickets came back. Go figure!?

Just got my pump replaced with a *new* part

Just got home after picking up my BRZ from the dealer. Here is the meat of the invoice:

CUSTOMER REPORTS A CHIRPING NOISE COMING FROM THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP (CHECK AND REPORT).
200 REPLACED HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP
71 WSU1
1 16625JB000 PUMP ASSY FUEL HIGH PRESS
1 17540AA340 PIPE AY FUEL DLVY
1 17555AA040 GSKT FUEL PIPE
2 14035AA610 GSKT INT MANIF
1 16175AA420 GSKT THROT CHMBR

9000 TEST DROVE VEHICLE AND CONFIRMED CHIRPING NOISE. FOUND TSB 09-54-12R FOR CHIRPING NOISE FROM HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. RECOMMEND PERFORMING TSB. REPLACED HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP AND ASSOCIATED PARTS PER TSB 09-54-12R. ROAD TESTED AND CONFIRMED THAT CHIRPING NOISE WAS GONE.

Apparently it's about a one hour job, and the cost of the new pump is about $600. Anyway, thought this info might be useful to compare with when you bring in your car for this warranty work. Service-wise, my dealer has been a pleasure to work with.

They'll be a pleasure until SOA tells them to stop replacing your pump. I'm on my 3rd one and SOA has said no more.

I've tried the Lucas Oil lubricant. Didn't help lessen the crickets for me. I used the smaller bottle. Half the first fill up, the rest on the second.

E free gas in. No chirp up to now. But I only put in 30miles. Moreover, the dealer called and they would like to put a updated fuel pump in for me.

So my FRS started to have the crickets in the 2k mile range. I am a little over 3k and I havent heard them for a couple weeks now. Mostly use Chevron, but occasionally Shell. Anyone have them stop and come back?

So, you want ME to read through 122 pages to answer that? Well...OK. The answer is yes, quite a few people.

I've been reading thread this since the beginning.

Make sure the fuel is completely free of ethanol until they make the HP pump compatible with it or add a lubricant to the fuel to compensate.

Ethanol free = no crickets for me.
With ethanol = crickets came back.

There does seem to be something to this. Of course it is also much hotter here this week..

Temperature definitely plays a role as well. Humidity may be a variable as well, since it was very muggy and warm here today, but I didn't have any crickets coming into work.
