Looking at getting a catch can sorted. Going VTA and using the front crank case and Oil cap. Going to cap the PCV Valve per some findings from the track guys.

Reluctantly ordered my Catch Can Set-up.

Also ordered Blue Twist Lok Fitting. 1x 45° and 2x 90°.

Gives me the ability to vent from the cap. The quick disconnect AN fittings are almost $60 a piece so I am going to do that later on. Right now I will just use the rear PCV as I am not running enough boost to cause any issues.

I have admitted defeat to the air leak. Taking my car in to get smoke tested at a shop. I think the Fog Machine idea would have worked, but the hose I was using was too small and causing it to condensate in the tube too quick. REALLY hoping that it is a leak, and not something super serious. Guess we will find out.

TL;DR at bottom

Well The smoke test came back with no Leaks. They did they test a few times and even changed out the fluid because they didn't think it was putting out enough smoke for their liking. In the end, they determined nothing was wrong.

I went home, stressed as I couldn't see what could be wrong. Tuner has said everything looked fine, just looks like an air leak. I have been all over the car trying to find an air leak and couldn't find anything. I went home and did a vacuum test on the wastegate to make sure it wasn't leaking. The first test wouldn't hold anything. I popped the vacuum line off, pushed it back on and tested again. Vacuum held. Tested a few more times and found nothing. I went ahead and removed the wastegate from the wastegate on the turbo. I checked to make sure nothing was wrong there. The Last revision of the tune was suppose to help up the boost, but it actually went down. So I went ahead and tighten the wastegate a half turn and re-installed everything. Next day I went to get a log. Car ran great, didn't notice any lagging or stalling I was having the day before. Car drove wonderful. Boost came on like it should. Though fueling was still off. almost finished with my 3rd gear log when I noticed I was at almost 13psi. I cut it early and headed home to return the wastegate half a turn. Boost hold strong at 11psi. Though I noticed my OFT (which I use as a gauge display when not using the ECUtek) was only reading 8.5 psi sometimes as much as 9.5psi. Only guess there would be the MAP sensor. I then started noticing it not reading vacuum accurately either. So new Omni 3 Bar on the way.

Car seems to run pretty well now. Fuel trims on low throttle(or tip in) are still almost maxing, and AFRs are still not what they should be (seems like it tries to target 13.7 instead of 14.7 while cruising or idle, also swings from lean to rich). Hoping the MAP sensor is actually whats wrong.

TL;DR - Smoke test came up inconclusive. Messed with wastegate, car runs great. Car overboosted while logging. Loosened wastegate. Car hold 11psi solid except MAP sensor isn't reading correctly. New Map sensor on order.

Edit: Log of the Run. Mind you my Boost gauge was reading 12-13psi. Map sensor (from my math) is reading little over 9psi. So either MAP sensor is bad, or it's not calibrated correctly. Not knowing the quality of the MAP sensor included in the Turbo kit, I went head and order Omni 3 Bar.

Catch Can Finished. I didn't actually take a picture of the catch can itself as I was in a hurry to get it in.

It is amazing how removing just a couple hoses going across the engine bay clean up the looks. Switched the BOV from the Brake booster line to the PCV Line on the back of the Intake manifold. Shorter routing, plus it is on it's own line. I also moved the line going from crankcase to intake pipe and routed that to the catch can, so it is nice and hidden away. Just need to mess with the intake pipe to hide the now unused hose barb.

New Map Sensor didn't do anything. Guessing now that the MAP sensor has been scaled differently. Waiting to hear back from Tuner (emailed Sunday Morning). Car Holds a steady 10psi now (until 4th gear where I saw ~11psi). MAP sensor still reads low. Car runs pretty darn well besides a few hick-ups here and there.

DataZap New Map Sensor

I am ready to move on to e85 at this point.

Please tell Dustin, why are some track guys ditching the PCV? Do theyblank it completely or just remove the ball?

Under high boost they found the PCV location pushes a lot of oil into the Catch cans. (or intake if you don't have a catch can). They cap it completely.

So we blocked that one and we were unable to get enough crankcase ventilation from the single front vent. So I currently have a fitting in the top of the fill cap as well as the front driver port and the problem is completely gone. It is 100% better.

Started mocking up the new rear diffuser. Got finished after dark, it is too big for a street car. It comes out far enough, but angle is too steep. I need to remove my exhaust to help make it easier to mock up.

Good to note that it is sitting on the ground in this photo. I slid it under real quick to get a picture. Fit in and up more when mounted.

Edit: Holy Broken Pictures Batman. Looks like I have another long night of linking pictures ahead of me.

Currently on the look out for a good used Cosworth Supercharger or a decent sponsorship deal if anyone knows about either. Also looking at a GTX3582R with Tial 1.03 A/R Housing. External Tial Wastegate.
