Probably not. If it is illegal there it probably is here as well. That is why I use 8 to 10 gallons a year.

I'm going to see how many years I can go with OEM fluid.

Edit: now that she is outside at night (someone took her spot in the garage) I'll probably go thru it a lot faster

With a mAh meter ..........

Or, how about with a voltmeter, a resistor and a stop watch .....

I just checked the specs of my dashcam, its rated at <1000mAh peak at 1440p 250mAh in the parking timelapse mode I would've checked with my multimeter but even if it drew 1000 id still have at least a day easily seeing as most small car batteries are like 40ish amp hours

Got the buyout quote where my lease is coming up in Aug... and decided I wouldn’t be keeping my FR-S. It was a fun ride, but I get more joy on my bikes so it is better to spend my money there.

Today I got my new backup camera functioning. This should be very handy since the back window isn't exactly super easy to see out of.

Nothing crazy yet. Just dropped in the little center console plaque (86 logo) along with the 86 logos for the cup holders. Thought it might look tacky, but takes away from the blandness. Bigger upgrades coming this weekend. Installing the leather/red stitch center console along with the matching dash trim piece. Will post before/afters!

Added the Laguna 90 to my JDL UEL. Racer X RLCAs, rear endlinks and tie rod ends at the same time. It was a busy day.

It was finally nice over the weekend. So I plasti dipped my stock rims. Used about a 1 and 3/4 cans.
Took 4.5 hours total. 1 hour for prep, and about 7 coats. I progressively increased the drying time as more coats were added.

After 5 coats

Work bench

Finished

I did mine at 300Km and the oil looked like diluted silverfrost paint (only gold not silver). There were thousands of tiny particles suspended in it and it streaked when I dragged a screwdriver through it. I dipped a magnet in it and the particles were not attracted to it. I had the oil out in bright sunlight when I noticed it. It did not show on the dipstick. The particles did not clump or settle out in the drain pan. I was surprised how they got through the filter.

What the particles were remains a mystery to this day. I sought answers at the time and no-one on the forums could explain.

That was 5 years ago and at 50,000Km the car uses no oil between changes.

If this has prompted you to check your oil at a very low mileage too I'd love to hear if you get the same result and especially if you inspect under a microscope or have a sample analysed. I regret that I did not do that.

I read how the torsen diff oil gets lots of crap on the magnetic drain plug so I changed it at low mileage twice. Once to flush and left the second in. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" as the saying goes.
