Who says anything about first releases??? Based on your argument there's a handful of cars in that list that shouldn't be there (miata, hilux, 3series, etc.)

"Thankfully you lot were on hand to help. Over 100,000 of you voted in our online poll, helping us to count down the 50 greatest cars of the past 20 years and crown the winner. And whoever attempted to cast four million votes for the Morris Marina, you've been reported to the authorities."

The difference is the other cars noted are completely different to the originals, they are the same car in name only. The NSX was basically the same car (with minor upgrades and facelifts) from when it was 1st released in 1990 and even if you want to argue it can be compared to the others you mentioned (I don't think it can BTW) the changes made to the car within the 20yr timeframe for this comparison does not make it one of the best 50 cars in last 20yrs.

However if we were to say the last 25years then I would agree with you wholeheartedly. The NSX was a very significant car that made the "exotic" car manufacturers sit up, take notice and realise you can build a supercar that could be driven and lived with everyday
