Then take the car autocrossing as soon as it's capable.

The Delorean in back to the future was the first car I thought was the coolest thing. But the first car I obsessed about was the z32 300zx. There was this gray one parked in front of my building when I walked home from school, I thought it was the coolest thing. That lead to researching and day dreaming, learning about cars and eventually other cars. Never did get one but I did end up getting a 240sx later.

Bought a Fiero GT in highschool. Great looking car, made great sounds, handled well... spun a rod bearing and couldn't justify the cost of another 2.8. Found a forum thread where a guy did a how-to for swapping a cadillac V8 into a fiero. Took less than a day! I did 2 more fiero v8 swaps after that - one was an autocrosser that cost less than 2500 bucks, all-in including the car. Been hooked ever since - I like frankenstein builds. I'd like to build a grand national powered volvo 240 wagon some day, but I'm married now so I have to keep things a little more practical.

The original Italian Job got me interested in cars, specifically the Mini Cooper. My first car was a '96 Ford Taurus SHO and that thing was a beast until the catalytic converter melted in the middle of the highway up in Georgia and then I finally got my own '07 Mini Cooper S which was a ton of fun, but I payed to much for it and soon after I got it was a pain to keep running for any period of time. Now I have my very own Twin to play with!
