My 16x7.5j +35 SSR Type C wheels are coming.

Annoyingly the UK-base model gets 17" wheels.. At least it does according to the Toyota website.

They should definitely have put the 16s on, the cost saved could have allowed them to fit the HID headlights which IMHO is the only thing missing from the base model really. I don't need climate control or keyless entry but the headlights I would miss...

The 16" is made by Enkei and is 2.2Kg lighter than the subaru wheels. I don't see how they would be cheaper. Cheaper and better marketing for them to put the 17" on at the expense of handling.

Potenza RE003 225/50R16 on Stock Enkei 16"

I like the fatter look on these wheels. They have a bit more grip and they slip more progressively than stock Yokohama db E70s; though not quite as much road feedback as stock.
