I agree, sound deadening adds weight, the last thing we want on this platform is added weight. There are plenty of heavy quiet cars to chose from, no need to water down the twins to appease those who don't understand.

Even if you don't want to add much weight, and you really really really care about sound deadening and road noise you can buy the 36 ft dynamat pack and put it in yourself for less than $160. But the road noise I think adds to the driver feel and dynamic of the car.

This, it keeps the driver attuned to the road we drive with more senses than just eyesight, I am much safer driving my FR-S than a car that isolates the driver.

Truth to that, as well as a manual transmission it forces you to pay attention to the road.

Just how sports cars used to be, this car is not bullet proof. Keep an eye out for any un usual noises, sounds etc., warm up engine before gunning it, keep good maintenance (probably sooner than what the manual says, assuming we all drive this car pretty hard). That is how a true sports cars should be. Moody, and the car chooses the driver.

Yup, and I'm happy to do that with my money. This is my first sports car, and like I said I'm not used to it but it is expected for weight and cost reasons, as well as the simple fact it's a sports car not a luxury sedan. Don't get me wrong I love my FRS

I wouldn't go so far as to say it makes the car any safer though.

The car is still pretty safe and if the sound bother you, there are people on here that got dynamat sound deadening installed ($160 for entire car pack if you install yourself) and they put stinger roadkill in the doors to lower a bit more of the wind noise and rattle. $300 can get a quiet ride.
