I do agree. Personally I prefer good ole' analog gauges. A nice center mounted Tach, a medium sized speedo, then small sized fuel, water temp, and oil pressure are the usual suspects. Simple is cheap and since analog's have been around forever they're relatively reliable. I don't want to have to worry about my IP being too cold to be visible or responsive in the middle of winter, or have a batch of pixels die right in the middle where they'll distract me. Technology for the sake of technology isn't my cup of tea, but if it's well implemented and improves ergonomics and usability I'm all for it.

The fluid interface in WP7 would be amazingly useful in a car. The speed and responsiveness at which it operates will blow anything in the current market out of the water. Its purpose built for speed and accessibility. lol. Choosing which song you want to play could take under 10 secs from the home screen.

I dunno, I love the platform and its focus. I sound like such a geek tho haha.

Digital gauge could potentially be lighter, with a lot more info and less shit to break.

Why would you even be worried about your Dash having a BSOD? You don't have a fucking computer in your dash... you're not web browsing, playing farmville on Facebook or some shit. Its dedicated to telling you how fast you're travelling, and how quickly the crank is rotating.

Last time I checked, systems that were purpose built for stuff like that.... never fails lol. The last time the inventory system went down at the local Canadian Tire was... Never.

But what do I know.

I agree with this, but why didn't they talk to Sony instead?

But when it does go down, it won't cost a few bucks and some elbow grease to fix. Rather $$$$$. Forgitaboutit.

I wasn't talking about the screen. More like CPU and the other electronics behind the show. You really think you could get a factory OEM screen for $20? Just wait for the markup.

I never said that. I said that analog would be better because at least if an analog gauge broke it would be a fairly easy and cheap fix. On a car made in 2011/2012, what would you use besides a ecus to control everything?
