Evo x the last evolution
Its sad when an icon is being put to death just cuz some people want to hug trees and dont care about fun to drive cars, sure the evo x was not as strong or popular as the iconic evo V or VI or it became soft due to the lack of WRC spirit but people still love it and wish to continue the feeling of tech driven super saloons.... Sad an era is ending

That's crap. I may not be the biggest fan of the evo series cars but they are iconic. Just like the big wing on the STi sedans. It has a deep rooted meaning.

Best? V/VI
Good? IX Shi-? X It gained too much weight over the years. The small group of clients they had were lost when it became too grown up. |

I don't know if this means anything but the current gen Evo starts at 33400 while the STI starts at 34000. I think the problem with Mitsubishi is that they don't have anything that slots under the Evo. For example, Subaru has the STI and under that with less features and a little less power the WRX. The WRX starts at 25500. Maybe I'm just dumb...IDK.

Thats pretty sad news indeed. I guess that means the end of the 4B11T as well, I don't see any other Mitsu's using that engine in the near future, especially since everything is going DI.

What Mitsubishi seems to not get is they need a 'grown-up' performance car for the aging performance guys, and not to 'grow-up' their performance cars.

Seems like it. The fact that the EVO were just that much tighter and harsher than the STI is what moved them off the lot. They tried to market to a bigger crowd and lost big.
I grew up with kids driving beater TSi Talons and GSXs. Its funny to think my kids will be growing up with beater EVO 8s and 9s |

It was just a rumor, Mitsubishi corp. confirmed that they won't discontinue EVO name any sooner.

Maybe they are just gonna design an entirely different performance oriented AWD car, who knows, I mean X is ten right lol, so maybe they are gonna start from scratch on something completely different.
