I do a lot of my driving in the Barossa Valley is SA so will certainly be some detours happening! The guys at work cant understand why I would want to drive 30,000kms a year in a tiny uncomfortable sports car....... I can think of about 5000 reasons why

There is an 86 v BRZ comparison in the new Top Gear Australia mag. Not sure if anyone wants a scan of the article? They do pick a winner!!

Are you saying the blue is good enough to offset the offensively ugly front on the BRZ?

that a matter of opinion Gir, personally I am not a huge fan of the 86 front (don't like the way the fog lights sit and the way the bottom part looks like pincers.

Not horrible, but a bit try hard. Subi looks more bland, which I personally prefer.

OK, i surprise myself. I had just scanned the pages with text, you'll have to buy the mag for all the pretty pictures. I'll make the rest a little bigger. Also, thought / hope the spare in the BRZ is an alloy. Did not know the rear vision mirror in the BRZ is not the frameless (care factor 0.00 though). Also did not know that data dot was Subaru only, thats good as a BRZ buyer.

They still miss the point on equipment levels and the costs of fitment on each car.

BFYB is the 86, exclusivity (if you can call it that) BRZ.

if your not ruled by your bank balance then i guess the BRZ fully optioned is more of your thing. the 86 will fall in to most budgets.

Thanks for the article.

So engine modifications to come in 18 months (2014)? Interesting considering that's about how far the pre-orders stretch at the moment. At least those at the end of the line can save up their cash for MkII.

As the article states there is very little between them. I think it is win-win; it just comes down to personal preference.

I doubt that may of us could tell the difference to tell the truth. Very rarely would you get to jump from one to the other, on a suitable road to make that judgement.

For me, i would have ordered the 86 GT. Only that the lack of digital speedo, smaller brakes and the very cut price HVAC controls grated a bit. So the BRZ in base spec was a perfect fit. Personally, screens, leather seats....... I'm buying a car, not a home theater. Just my personal taste though.
