That's basically exactly what happened to me when that dude in the Prelude was trying to get me to race. I just accelerated up to cruising speed and he thought I was doing a flyby.

Gotta go both ways, right? Kids can have the best parents in the world and still end up assholes and kids can have the worst parents in the world and still end up decent people.

Older generations have been complaining about the younger generation since time immemorial. I'm sure Millennials will start to complain about Gen Z in a few years.

"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

Case in point lol.

Also, I'm sure you've seen this at some point:

I always think about this when older people say "nobody talks anymore, everybody's always on their phone". But really, we've always done everything in our power to ignore each other. Smartphones have just made it easier since you can keep your distraction in your pocket, rather than having to carry around a book or newspaper.

And people have been complaining about new ways to communicate for just as long:

Raced my girlfriend on her stage 1 WRX and lost, surprisingly. Can't wait for her to get a downpipe so I can hear that sweet sound of dust hitting my face

Had a run in with a Maserati Ghibli the other day. On a two lane twistie, he decides it's a good idea to speed ahead merge back and fourth into my lane. I ignore him and at the next stop sign I take an alternate route. Turns out we were going the same place as I met him a couple of stops later. I came to the intersection first and made my turn before he arrived to his stop. For some reason he started to tailgate me. When our paths went separate routes, I could see a him in glasses staring me down as turned away from our common path. I wonder what he was trying to prove

Hahaha that's the BEST. The other day Waze (I use it even when I know where I am going) had me taking some crazy backroads because of an overturned vehicle on the highway. This dude in a Ford Fiesta? or something had weaved his way through traffic up until he got behind me and then followed me off the highway on the usual way to shortcut the spot where the two highways merge when it's backed up. But I keep going further into the backwoods roads and I see him turn back towards the highway on the normal shortcut route (after a nice hesitation). Sure enough after like 10mi of nearly empty highway I see this little white Ford Focus? Fiesta? whatever it was coming FLYING down the highway only to see what he and I both knew he was going to see later. My back bumper again magically. Ironically it was my exit anyway coming up so just before he passed me I was already turning off the highway. Situational awareness is priceless. He was giving me that same look too as he passed on the highway while I was on the exit ramp looking back. He's thinking "damn that guy is good..." and I'm thinking, "there's an app for that.."

With the Corsa exhaust, everything from sports cars, economy 4 doors, and minivans etc. try to show off and "beat" me every once in a while because they think I'm racing them...nah, I just don't get peak torque until 6000 (I shift at 4k and feel bad lol)

I always lose since I don't feel comfortable pushing my car to redline on the street 99% of the time..too dangerous, and in addition to that, cops will snipe me. Even if I tried, I would lose...

Moral of the story, keep your stock exhaust.

From a fellow Corsa bro, just shift at 3K. Even 2.5K is okay. And move through gears as quickly as possible. Usually by the time I'm doing 40 mph, I'm in 6th. Helps with the noise and you move along faster cause of the longer gearing in 4/5/6th

Yeah I hear you the only thing I don't like about aftermarket exhausts this car is loud off the line. Most of the time I'm trying to cruise and it sounds like I'm trying to race the Camry next to me.

One of the reasons I eventually went with ACE headers to have some down low torque. Considering jumping to at least 4.56 gears just to be quicker off the line without as much throttle needed I'm guessing.

At low loads, i.e. cruising, there is no lugging. If I need to accelerate, I obviously shift down. Plus this is the MY17, so the final drive is shorter.
