Well according to the original post:

Much of power gains come from revised individual cylinder ignition retard, IAT compensation and ignition advance b tables. In basic terns, the new maps will make a bunch more power when air temps are lower (under 80F). The older maps were a bit conservative in this respect.


It's a more finely tuned off the shelf tune if that makes any sense that yields around 10 more whp

Read the first post, unless things have changed he said 91 and 93 had the biggest improvement, while e85 didn't change much.


As for updating the tablet do it when this update comes out, flash the car to stock, then use openflash manager to update the template, firmware and tunes stored inside

You lost me on this part.

I flashed OTS v 1.0 about 6 months ago. When these are posted soon, do I need to do some sort of update to my OFT, or can I just get the new files and re-flash? I'm a bit rusty since I basically just set it and forget it last time, and haven't touched it since.

OTS V1.0?!? The current OTS tunes are at 2.0!

Download and install Openflash manager and download and unzip the latest OFT tunes to your desktop or somewhere you know It'd be best to wait for these new tunes though.
Also I personally always flash back to stock before connecting to OFM after a long period of time, because if something goes wrong and the tablet gets bricked at least the car isn't stuck with a tune.

Looks like they were just updated 30Mar16, 2 weeks ago. I've been waiting for the official release of the new ones that were rumored in here since last fall/winter, so I hadn't checked. But, since it sounds like those are almost ready, I'll just wait til then.

May take your advice about the re-flash though. Hopefully won't need be needed!
