Gap Between Oil Pickup & Oil Pan?

I was wondering just how much space there is between the oil pickup and the oil pan. I tried jacking up the oil pan to push up the engine while replacing spark plugs .. now I'm pondering about the potential of oil starvation/metal shavings flinging about.

Well how big of a dent are we talking about? Pics would help.
This just a guess but I think you'll be fine. If it looks like you ran over a brick and have a decent dent it would be fine.

The oil strainer does sits about 1/2-1" from the bottom. If I recall, or what the parts diagram tells me.

If it's a couple of inches deep then I'll look into replacing the oil pan.
PN# 11109AA222 goes for $102. Just incase your wondering
