Hey guys.....

Just out of curiosity I wanted to ask if any of you changed out your MAP sensor to a 3 or 4 bar variant or are you running the OEM sensor as I am? I realize that tuning with the OEM sensor doesn't give you correct readings on the "Torque" app for boost PSI, but my tuner at the time suggested against it saying the sensor would be too sensitive and would pick up the fluctuations of the valves opening and closing. Does that sound right?

Also, should I think about getting new injectors like 700cc? I ask because with the 69mm pulley and on e85 I hope to be at or near 300 whp and I'm not sure if I really need bigger injectors or not for more flow. I don't recall if Mike at Moto-East where I got the supercharger ever indicated to me whether or not I would need new injectors, but he did say my stock fuel pump would be fine if I remember correctly. Input on this? AJ already responded in the previous post regarding injectors, but I'd like to get a few more opinions on this.

What about fuel rails? would larger volume fuel rails help in any way or are they simply more on the decorative side of things like changing black radiator hoses to red or blue?

Exhaust is already a done deal because I got it in mind for the supercharger before hand.

Thanks for any help and input.

That is correct, this system doesn't like anything other than the OEM sensor.

You'll be on the limit of the OEM injector setup on the 69mm and E85. I can't comment on the fuel pump. Does a Google search on this site pull up any info?

Not needed.

Quite the opposite here. My tuner wouldnít tune it without a different MAP... as it maxed out the stock and he couldnít make clear adjustments. He provided a 4 bar and tuned accordingly.

As a separate post... Iíve done 100+ pages of reading in this thread and couldnít find an exact solution. Iím running a 210 non intercooled kit that I purchased new and self installed a couple of months ago. With this said itís an 80 mm pulley... and Iíve developed quite a belt squeak. I originally thought pulleys... ruled out idlers, replaced the tensioner, tried a new original length belt... same noise, upgraded to a gates RPM belt... noise got WORSE.

If I spray water or lubricant on the flat side of the belt the noise goes away for a moment, then comes right back.

Any ideas?

You lose power by running a larger MAP sensor

I got mine installed back in May/June time. No squeaks whatsoever and I'm using the Gates belt that Sprintex provided. It must be one of the pulley's I guess, but which one?

Yup, but it's true. It's the reason that Sprintex stopped shipping with a MAP sensor and instead advised to use OEM. It affects both the 210 and 335 as well. You don't need a larger MAP sensor to tune the car anyway.

Until you reach the limit of the MAF.

Which you won't on this compressor. Plus SD would be a pain with the MAP resonance that the sensor picks up.

It ended up being the belt. I grabbed a MOPAR belt number that I found at work that was just a few mm shorter, and actual fabric on the back and sound went away immediately. The shorter gates number that was in this thread would not fit with the larger pulley of the 210.

Drove it all day with it today and no sounds. 🤷🏻*♂️

On another note.... I was just sharing my experience with the MAP. The car was tuned on Ecutek by James at HRI, who has tuned 100ís of various 86 setups. I trust his input and car runs flawlessly at both high and low RPMs

While I also trust James from his time on here, I also trust the tuner who I work with who's the UK importer of the Sprintex and had these on the dyno many times. Logs look reasonably fine but the 335 stopped making power at higher RPM. Stock MAP sensor back on, problem went away and instantly made 15-20hp more. The same thing kept happening on the 210, it just robs you of less power. You don't lose anything by running the OEM sensor, to run a larger range sensor is not required.

In laymans terms, the stock sensor doesn't see the pressure fluctuations that the compressor causes at higher boost/RPM. You just tune the MAP compensation up until positive pressure, the MAF does the rest. If you have a sensor that measures the turbulence it causes the fuel and timing to run less than optimum and there's nothing you can do. I've personally seen the logs when this happens and it doesn't show up as an issue, you can only pick up on it with a dyno where the tailpipe AFR reading really aid diagnosis.

I'm going on the dyno this weekend to get my tune dialed in. Is the tune file locked from Moto-East?

I would imagine so, yes. Have you got an EcuTek dongle, the software and tune file? If so when you open it up you'll only be able to see the logging parameters.
