What's up with all the sludge? Those look like rough machine marks. It looks like an oil galley block off plate. If you are concerned, block sand it with some 600 grit wet sand paper and you should be good.

I would be more concerned about the debris in the oil galley of your oil pump cover. If that was my motor I would roll it over and take a peak at the rod bearings which is very easy on the FA motor.


The silicone is what seals the front cover so it should not be an issue if its cleaned and re-siliconed properly.
