If this follows with the BRZ that means the fun may go too.

So waiting equals less fun. ???
I would say that happens from generation to generation, and not so much within the product cycle of the vehicle.

The 90s mr2 had a good set of revisions. The latest model year was definitely the best, even if it was the heaviest. Why? Most stable. Best styling. +25hp in JDM spec.

I foresee a similar path with the FR-S/BRZ.

Frankly, I'd rather see the revisions to improve (seriously, this is engine improvement, not adding 50lbs of weight), than not at all.

You cant be serious, right? The tail light looks like the Civic from the 90s.

I never thought that for a second. Then again, this is coming from someone who drives a Nissan Altima.

At least they fixed it a bit for 2013.

I'd have to be crazy to go and trade in my car for the next year model. Waste of money.

I will consider trading when the next generation comes out which should coincide with the warranty on the current car running out. This to makes more sense.

Not worried about next year's model. I make a habit of buying/leasing the 1st yr cars. Nothing like driving around in something that very few people have. Next year ... there will be many FR-S/BRZ 's running around and the uniqueness will start to wear off.

Same here. My last car was a 2008 Accord EX-L V6 bought in August 2007..

I dont mind the tail lights and dont really get all the people that dislike them. At least they are partially LED.

I'm really keen to hear more about the Engineering Prototype that Tada put together. Early reviews don't seem swept away by it but it sounds brilliant on paper; 18'' BBS wheels with better tires, shorter gearing, lsd, Sachs dampers, stiffer chassis, and sportier exhaust note for a rumored $26k sounds like an awesome deal. Add in the torque dip and tail light resolution and we're good to go!

Wishful thinking but it's kept me out of a FRS so far. It's essentially all the mods I'd want to do to the current car, just with warranty and much, much cheaper. I figure it's been over 5 years already, what's another 6 months? Only mod I'd do is get a spare trunk hatch and go wingless on the day-to-day.

no changes for the FRS planned yet? What are the chances that there will be a price increase with all these upgrades and fixes.

Original thread is pretty old, and admittedly speculative. Only thing I'm interested in is the Hitachi injector changes, which sound like they may not actually happen because of the D4-S patents or some contractual agreements. Not interested in the TGV.

I have, on a brief test drive. It's a great car no doubt and I think about signing the paperwork several times a day. But with the new model out in 6 months, why not just wait? Like I said, it's been over 5 years already, just another drop in the bucket. If it doesn't materialize, no harm no foul and I'll decide at that time whether I want to continue waiting or not - it's not like the world is ending tomorrow (!). The S2000 and Grand Sport will keep me giggling till then.
