I worked F_15,s for 10 yrs and C-130,s for 14 yrs. I am used to perfection around the aircraft and for me yours is right there. look forward to taking my time and trying to get to your level. Thanks for the props. Polishing the cast cast aluminum was some work but well worth it in the end... Definitely will set your HKS SC kit as well as your engine bay apart.

If you start reading my build thread beginning at this point you can read and see the steps I took. I bought my polishing wheels and rouges at Harbor Freight.

I also am former Air Force... Com/Nav on Pavelows for 6 years before cross-training to VI. I currently work on C550s and A-Stars.

I'll PM you my number if you have any questions while you are polishing and or installing your HKS v3 supercharger kit. Go AF!

I have a question about this kit. I know it is available with a tune from hks but was wondering if going with the non ecu package and buying a ecutrek would be a better choice. I am looking to get closer to 300 whp.

I may be a little biased, since I work for HKS, but I don't see any reason not to choose the HKS tune, since it it unbelievably simple to use and is cheaper than any of the other tune options from other companies.

Going Ecutek will probably result in another $800 to $1000 overall cost vs. canned tune. For your money, the tune will be calibrated to your particular car's hardware configuration, exhaust, restrictor size etc etc.

From a good tuner I'd say the custom tune will always yield the best results. It's a question of having availability of a good tuner, dyno tuned locally as well as being willing to spend the difference. I am not sure a remote e-tune can consistently provide the best outcome, or if so, with extra work and trial and error on the car owner's part sending back and forth data logs.

nice job with that polishing ;-)

@jackblack21
With the HKS kit, you need :
- an oil cooler
- an oil Temp jauge & Oil Pressure Jauge.
- a new Omnipower flowmeter / air flow sensor 3 bar
- bigger wheel because 215 is too short, unless you want to drift at all red light
- better brake pad & brake plate
- etc..

You can check my config is need more advice.

2.5 bar MAP will do as well.
Torque can be set up for oil temp. Provided oil level is good and not over approx 125C you dont need a pressure gauge. Need heavier oil though. Agreed upgrade pads and fluid or just wear thru brakes quickly.

@wbradley an oil pressure gauge will show you that when the engine is cold, you can reach 7 bars (100 PSI) and you have to take care of your engine when you start at a red lite instead of doing "i'm the best" and reach 9 bars... help your rod bearing shell.
And with an alarm (it will beep when lower than 1 bar), you can prevent an oil leak and an engine damage.
I installed an oil pressure jauge when no one wanted to install an oil pressure jauge in France. Now I m so happy to have one, I dont regret my 100€ : A better investment than the stickers.

It's a rotrex based sc so it's on the quiet end.

There's a bypass but I'm not sure about if you can fit aftermarket. The SC isn't completely quiet but it's definitely quiet compared to a Roots per se.

Hmm. My brz is a 2015 model, however my ecu id is ZA1JD00C which is on their list of confirmed ecu codes. Is there something else with my car that would make it incompatible being a 2015?

Also I have an ecutek tune on my car now. would the flash editor be able to overwrite it?

That's because we just added your ECU ID to the website yesterday

We are making the announcement later today for confirmed fitment through 2016 with the Flash Editor.

However, the Flash Editor is *not* able to overwrite the Ecutek flash. You must be running a stock ROM to use the HKS FE.
