Best manual you have driven
We have plenty of threads on what cars people have owned but I was curious to see what the best manual people have ever driven was.
Mine was an RSX (only manual I have ever driven). I thought it was a blast but I am sure there are better stick shifts out there. |

I'm going to assume you mean to ask "best gear-shift mechanism feel". If so...
#1. S2000 #2. Miata [NA] #3. I have to admit, the custom shifter I made for my '02 MINI Based on preliminary/static evaluation of the BRZ I sat in, its shifter is probably tied with #2 or #3, which are high marks indeed.

FD3S and BNR32 are the best manual cars iv tested IMO among these Japanese cars with a manual iv also had some seat time in; FC3S, BNR33, Z32, Z31, SC300, DC2, AP1, GD WRX, S13, S14, AE86,
On my list, I still have yet to drive a MKIVSupraTT, R34GTR, and S15 Silvia. Id think those cars a would be a blast to drive.

I got to drive my friend's RX-8. I thought it was a fun car but he got rid of it because the oil consumption and maintenance was burning a whole in his pocket. But the engine came along way for coming out 54 years ago or so...

Definitely the Ford GT, never driven an S2k but I've heard good things.

Mazda Miata, always. As long as you keep the boots in proper order, get a solid bottom bushing and keep it well lubricated its magical. s2k is nearly the same though, I just prefer the placement in the Miata.

The only cars I got to drive that were a manual was a Civic, CRX, Prelude and an A5. I know of other people who had either an S2000 or MR2 that liked those a lot. So if it wasn't for the BRZ I would have been more inclined to get an S2000.

I've driven many manuals in my lifetime and the best beyond a doubt was my Mazda Miata (NB).

Basically any Honda transmission is smooth ie CRz/Si/s2k/etc. I wish I had a chance to drive the Porsche Carrera GT; I've heard nothing but praises for its transmission.
