1. Yes OE toe arms are plenty, and actually the only legal option, not sure what other chassis suffer from a lack of factory toe adjustment but if you ever play with aligning your car yourself you'll quickly find that it's got more range than you'll ever need.
2. I don't know the FA camber plate and can't say, currently Street Touring allows you to use camber bolts in both holes, I believe you can also have slotted struts it would be odd if you couldn't get what you need.
3. A few years back there were a few cars that broke axles, some of the common factors were a low ride height, sticky tires, hard launches and added power. The issue seems to have faded, maybe an early run of axles weren't up to spec? Not sure, but it's been a long time since I've heard of one breaking, hard launches at autocross seem to be not cool anymore. Maybe it never was idk.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49511

Don't panic if you hear a clicking from the rear axle, you might recall that Subaru axle nuts go soft and loosen and need replacing, the 86/BRZ/FRS still uses the same two dollar axle nuts.

Would there be any rule changes that burn the current status of STX? Bumping non-competitive STU cars in is pretty much the only thing that comes to mind, or just shaking up how ST is divided up (especially with the new tuning regs), maybe it's just around here but STH isn't the hit I thought it would be.

I can’t see how anything over -3.5 front would be necessary. From everything I’ve ever seen that gives the most even tire temps when racing. Of course that will vary a little bit but over -4 would be way overkill.

I would have said the same thing before I tried -4.2 in the front. But, it works. I've run everywhere between -3 front and -2 rear, all the way up to -4.2 front and -2.8 rear. I'll be honest I did not notice huge differences in grip/turn-in/etc between the various settings. Although usually I had different shock settings with each setup too, and each alignment change was always in smaller increments.

I think it just goes to show how many different setups can work good on these cars. The canned setups can work fine, and there are plenty of setups that would seem out of the box, so to say, that still work fine as well.

Different setups for asphalt, concrete and tire choice. Rivals and Crows concrete absolutely needs lots of camber. RE's and asphalt, not so much.

Thanks for the reply. Will have to go through that thread in more detail but it appears as though most of the affected cars were 2013s, though I saw at least one 2014. Mine is a 2014.

Are differential risers/ subframe risers legal in STX? E.g.

No, metal content alone those are illegal

Hey all,

Sorry, read about 20 pages, saw a few tidbits about weight. But looking for more info.

What is legal weight reduction for STX?

I know for sure are okay:
- Spare & tools.
- Lighter Exhaust
- Wheels
- Low weight battery.

What about Removing rear seats? Rear trunk carpet? Sound deadening tar? Cupholder? Visors? Speakers? Floor mats?

Most of that stuff is a no but floor mats must come out, or at least the driver's side.

You can lose weight in the brakes and the dampers to an extent. Run with the tank close to empty. You can lose a limited amount of weight by swapping the front seats for racing buckets. Steering wheel/air bag. There's probably more but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Steering wheel/air bag has to be OEM weight.

Okay Thank you. Weird though, so the Center cupholder, though removable without unbolting anything is technically not-removable per the rules? Not that it would make any difference other than the cumulative effect.

Long term I will look at seats. My upcoming goal is wheels and tires. So hopefully will lose weight on the wheels. Not going too wide until I get dedicated racing tires when I am a better driver (right now I suck).
So 225 or 235 on Enkei or something light will get me some weight loss there.

Don't think I'll be modifying steering wheel unless there's some compelling reason to?

Don't look at seats till we have clarity... It may stop being legal for newer cars. Anyone with airbags in the seat. Even though it undermines safety for anyone also doing HDPE and wanting a roll bar, harness, and hans...

Thank you.

I searched a bunch; Are the SCCA rules for Solo Car found here the same set of rules that Autocross uses?
https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-cars-and-rules
2018 SCCA® National Solo® Rules - 2018-03-14 (3.8MB)

When I look at my local club's rules or various other places, sometimes they are quick reference guides or a short list of rules. Wanting to verify which is the full rulebook.

Okay. So the seat rule may change soon?
