SakeBomb Garage: Track Day BBK Kit for the BRZ/FT86
Introducing the NEW SakeBomb Garage Wilwood Track Day Kit for the BRZ/FT86!
Building on the success of our similar brake kits for our SCCA and NASA winning S2000 and RX7's. We produced this brake kit with the intention of bring race engineering to the broader motorsports market with an affordable but potent brake solution. We call this our endurance Track-Day brake kit! We have designed an affordable, light weight, and heavy duty brake system, which has great thermal capacity with extremely thick (20mm) pads, making it both a great thermal barrier between the caliper and rotor (preventing boiling fluid) while also giving a great value with so much pad to go through vs the other options out there. A true racing caliper, directional curved vanes in an affordable package with wide pad selection make this BBK a no brainier on the track or street! Our new Wilwood Track-Day Brake System, for the BRZ is available with introductory pricing for a limited time! We have put together a competition inspired brake system, utilizing lightweight, high-efficiency components. We're sure you'll agree this "Light-Track" BBK a fantastic option for high performance braking, at fantastic price points. Ultra-lightweight Forged Wilwood Calipers with stainless steel pistons and high temp seals, paired with your choice of our light-track two-piece SBG 325x32mm Premium Rotors (32 directional curved vane) This kit utilizes the same quick-change 20mm thick pads as our AP Racing Competition Kit, and the same rotor size, providing you with amazing bang for buck. The benefits of the Wilwood caliper are quite clear, with almost 3lbs of unsprung weight saved at each caliper when compared to other big brake kits, while still retaining excellent caliper stiffness. Put mass into what matters... the rotor, not the caliper! This is the perfect package for customers looking for the maximum bang for their buck when it comes to braking performance. These brake calipers utilize one of the most common racing pad shapes, and accommodate a full 20mm thick pad. Not only does this provide additional thermal insulation for the calipers, but with a massive 50mm of useable anulus, wear on the face of the rotors, as well as the pads, is greatly reduced compared to smaller profile brake kits. This results in much more robust lifespan for both the rotors and brake pads, and maximizes your dollar per braking compound/use. Our Package Includes:
This kit has everything you need to overhaul your aging, undersized stock brake system. From stock cars to high horsepower builds, this brake setup is a fantastic match with outstanding braking performance that will not break the bank. Wilwood Forged Superlight Calipers:

- Worth providing brake clearance template, eg. attaching to OP post or link in url to download of one, if not list confirmed fitment for some popular wheel models/sizes/offsets;
- tell what is resulting brake bias with this (if used with your listed as compatible rear SBG BBK kit or if with OEM rear brakes); - link in this pad also pdf of brake pads shapes used (seen on linked product page, but won't hurt here too); - if this is track only kit, or if it also has some daily driving friendly features (eg. dustboots, optional solid brake disks, to lessen corrosion issues in winter-salt environment); - if there are backing plates that allow connecting of airducts - warranty policy / rehauling services offered |

What is the total weight of the kit per corner and or each component. Wondering how this stacks up with the Wilwood wrx kit that drops 16lbs a corner. I’m sure this is heavier but with much more performance. Would still be awesome to save 10+ lbs a corner and get the performance of the BBK.

In for this (or at least piston sizes so someone here can do the math)

finch1750: are piston sizes alone sufficient to calculate bias, if one doesn't know pad area & it's distance from rotating center?

I always find it off putting when a vendor tries to compare their product in a skewed way as superior against a known one that works well. Just sell your product. |

I have been using this setup for 5yr and can say nothing but great. We use the BRZ as kind of a backup car at the track. Second time out we were turning the stock rotors cherry red, as in bright sunny day it was so obvious the corner workers black flagged us.
These brakes will stand this little car on its nose. My son took a couple of SCCA boys for a ride and they all were shaking there heads in amassment for the stopping power for such a heavy car. We use the 20 series pads for street and the 30 for the track. Never had a problem. The tires for the street are Advan AD 08 and for the track either Hoosiers or the AD888 depending on temperature. Balance has never been an issue either, with track pads in stock calipers in the rear. In addition these calipers are easy to inspect and simple to change pads. |

um - no. If those are the calipers they used, it would make this system heavily front biased. I haven't done the detailed math, but likely up from the OEM 69.7% front bias to something that is 75%+ |

That chart was for a 4-piston caliper, and much smaller rotor. The caliper you quoted is 6 piston, with basically 20% more piston surface area AND is being used with a larger rotor. If that is the caliper they are using, it is a terrible choice as a front-only upgrade. |

My comments are quite clearly directed at NoHaveMSG who speculated using a 6 piston caliper with "piston diameters of 1.62, 1.38, and 1.25 If I had to guess......"
