Awesome review. Captures the essence of why this car was created.

I love the comparisions with the Audi TT because that is what I have been driving for the past four and a half years, and been autoxing a MX-5 (in STR) for a year now.

In Jeremy Clarkson's words: SWEEEEEET! But then he'll turn around and want more "POWAAAHHHHHH!"

Good realistic review. No straighline speeds. It's a cornering machine. That "cornering" point is something I need to understand though.

And "easy" to swing the tail out? Mmmm...I'll be the judge of that. I hope it really is.

1. why do reviewers keep testing the AT?

2. why do magazines say "GET THIS MANUAL TRANSMISSION" and then point to the AT shifter?

:?

Haha...anyone else find it funny the stereo illumination is green while the rest is red?

It's my '06 STI all over again. My sti had the ALL green illumination (HVAC, Stereo, Window switches) you'd find in a regular impreza, but the gauge cluster was all red. Took apart everything and soldered in red leds everywhere..lol

At least we get a better stereo over here (North America)

Could be a Subaru Cruise Control unit, my WRX has the SAME stalk. I don't use CC, so i'm not bothered. I WOULD like wheel controls though.

That's cuz its prety much a standard issue Toyota Stereo. The thing looks damn near identical to mine. (which illuminates green)

"It's about epic fun at reasonable speeds. So the fun last longer, and I can't see what's wrong with that."

Me either. That's MY point. I could go buy a crotch rocket that will hit 100+MPH fast than this car will get to 45MPH but who drives those speeds 99% of the time? I want a fun car that is engaging to drive not a drag racer that will get me 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds. A car that I enjoy and smile walking up to get into.
