Highest HP on stock motor using only 93/94 octane?
I generally don't care for E85 as I can't get it. But I do have access to 94 octane which is readily available where I live.
I'm curious to know how far the stock internals on pumpgas 93/94 have been pushed with forced induction. It's looks as though FullBlown holds the record on stock internals but they did it on E85. I wonder if ~400whp is possible on straight 93/94 (obviously with all supporting mods). Also, is there a record holder for most power stock internals on regular pumpgas? Thanks.

The problem becomes knock threshold not engine internals.
On pump fuel you will run into a ceiling where you can increase the boost but you must decrease the ignition timing to compensate for knock. At this point there would be no benefit to running more boost. This ceiling is different for every kit. A big turbo will produce the best peak whp as it doesn't have to run crazy high boost to do it. I have seen several Full Blown kits running 300-330 on pump. Looks like ptuning's GT3076r is running about the same on pump fuel (and more power with meth injection). I will say that it is too simplified an approach to say "I want the highest HP kit". There are many other factors to consider like spool, daily driveability, mounting locations, turbo used and what application you want it for.

I'd just like to get an idea of what can be achieved without having to rip apart the motor to swap in some lower compression pistons. Cool SN btw...

EDIT: Honestly I think the sweet spot for the 86 is 280-320whp which should be doable on pump with most turbo kits. I've also seen a vortech get 300 on fa20club dyno with their header + smaller pulley. |

I agree 280-320 whp is a great power range.
@sw20kosh & @Sonolin comments are good. It depends what you do with the car but I have a great tuner and on 98 ron we personally feel 300+ is pushing it.

I have 280ish now and I'm already needing more. Just get a turbo so you can up the boost a few times as it gets boring, extend the excitement as long as possible lol.

I've seen the P&L kit dyno at 320 on pump

300-320whp is the highest ive seen on pump. Ive seen higher on meth+93 if you want to go that route.

On our kit, we've 300~320 on pump 92 (10% ethanol). With a pure 93/94, we could push it a bit further. But realistically, if you are planning to run pump gas, you'd give yourself a bit of margin to not only deal with possible gas issues in your area, but in case you go to areas that only have 92 or 91 octane.

330 to 340 whp is about the limit on 93 octane. Pretty much any turbo kit can hit over 300 whp on 93 octane.
