The photos of AVO's car have what appears to be a catch-can or other product in that location and I recall the car at SEMA having something there as well. I just want to make sure I have a catch can that will work with your kit, because if the Crawford AOS doesn't fit, I'd like to line up another part like the D3 that mounts near the battery.
It's just our catch-can back there, and to make sure nobody gets the wrong idea, when I say our's, it's one from an STI, not one made specifically for the BRZ/FR-S. I pulled it out and ghetto'd it on the car just for testing blowby, first after 2400 miles n/a, then 2800 miles turbocharged. I'll be pulling it off next week to see the results after the big trip to SEMA and back.

It's not a part of the kit, though the final piece can be ordered as an option. Normally, though, the kit just plumbs one line into the standard setup.

Im sure this has been answered but will the kit still retain the skid plate from OEM or will that have to go?

From memory, yes with 2" of clearance.

Does the AVO exhaust manifold bolt up to the stock overpipe location? I think the answer is yes from Paul's posts but I just want to make sure. I'm looking at overpipe & downpipe combo set-ups like the Nameless and I wanted to make sure I'm going to get something compatible

Yep. Bolts up to the stock gear so any aftermarket exhaust pieces will work.

Be conscious of the fact that if you plan to make more power upgrades via turbo, you should buy the correct diameter piping first, no sense in having to buy an exhaust kit twice. 2.5" will only cut it until around 350rwhp.

Fair point. For me, the capacity of 350rwhp is more than enough. In and of itself, 350 rwhp is a modest goal and honestly would be excessive for a new performance driver such as myself. That's why I have a deposit on this kit and can't want to get it in hand, because it's goal is modest and ultra reliable power. 250-275 rwhwp would be golden for all of my goals.

Having the complete 2.5" turboback would be enough for me I think but what's right for me may not be right for others! :happy0180:

you can't go too big on the exhaust diameter cuz you start to lose torque.
These guys obviously know what they are doing. for those of you who want more power, there are plenty of other kits out there.

I'm just not interested on having to upgrade every gut in this car to keep 300whp going forever.

Actually with a turbo system you want as little backpressure as possible, if you dont have to you should never really go less than 3" for a TBE. Naturally Aspirated on the other hand required backpressure and too big of an exhaust will hurt you.
