Makes the car much more enjoyable on the street with the t56.

Is that the Lexus rear end?

It is. Super easy swap and makes my setup much more Street friendly.
I might swap my original rear end’s gears to 3.55 while I drive on this 3.73.

$700
I can find other Lexus IS300 diffs for half that, but the M85 3.73 LSD, 700 was the going rate from what I found.

Good to know. I was just looking into this as someone nearby has the M98(?) diff. I kinda feel for 700$ I'd almost try to get a Ford 8.8 though... I feel like I could probably get one with LSD and installed for about 1000$. Gonna take some fabrication tho

I dont think m98's 3.90 gear ratio is a significant enough difference. At least for increased HP applications.

I considered the ford 8.8, previously I had one in my 240z. It was
$500 for the diff
$75 front yoke
$575 for stubs
$950 axles
$1000 mount kit

Two companies make mounts for the ford 8.8 into a FRS/BRZ:
Grannasracing $2,685.00
Full Blown Motorsports: $3,995.00

Though I like it better, I'm probably going to pull this 3.73 rear end in about a month or so and go to 3.55. Expect to see a FS thread at some point.

Ahh forgot axles. The mount kit itself I think I can make, at least cheaper than buying it from Grannas. It would obviously cost more than the Lexus Diff but I imagined it would be much stronger

Today I took a Prius V radio I got off eBay for $70 and removed the Entune module.

I didn't feel like spending $30 on the mounting brackets that are probably not worth more than $2, so I attached it to my radio via molding tape and zip ties.

The software on this thing seemed like it was never updated, so I took it care of that.

I installed the Entune app on my phone, created an account, and now my car has fancy radio features for only $85 ($70 for the radio + $15 for a GPS antenna).

Thanks! I definitely made out like a bandit on this one. In most of the posts I read while researching this project others said they paid about $200 for a used Entune module. I paid less than half of that for both the module and the antenna

Yesterday I installed a DSS Carbon driveshaft. It runs as smooth as butter until 120kph+ where I'm getting significant vibration. I'm going to rotate it early next week and see what happens.

I'm genuinely happy and surprised at the results of this mod.

I've put the headliner back in and the rear side plastics. I am around 2480lbs right now. I need to build a rear seat delete and will try and stay under 2500.

Are the results "noticeable" as others have described it?

Yes. I had the aluminum one. Rode great. No sloppy 2 piece drive shaft anymore. That said, I can't say I noticed a performance change. It was lighter so it must have done something but I think it's not of a feel upgrade than performance upgrade
