For 2022 SCCA Solo Nationals the following list is how difficult a given class is to finish in the trophys (NOT get first place) compared to the other classes based on PAX.

PAX is always difficult to judge performance wise when you get to Lincoln with the disparity of Street Tires and Race Tires. Coupled with multiple run days, cold AM conditions, etc etc.
Also though, STX has always been a class where contention is close throughout the field. Coming from someone who's never won (dang you ProSolo Championships that don't mean anything) - it is indeed tough.

I’m surprised SSC isn’t higher up, maybe a better measure would be the pax delta between winner and last trophy spot? There’s roughly a 1.5s gap covering the trophies in both classes, I think I’d be hard pressed to say one is ‘easier’ then the other but that’s what this metric implies.
SSC winner pax 160 vs 274 = 114 place window Stx winner pax 77 vs 186 = 111 place window Still flawed, and probably makes smaller classes seem ‘harder’ but as above, this relies on pax being more accurate then it is, and I’m a big fan of pax as it stands. Still interesting though and I would argue any class in the top half of this list is competitive with no easy trophy spots to be had. |

I will say in the time I've been in STX, I've watched that number shrink and the quality of the average trophy build has gone up. The formula for a competitive car isn't a secret, but a half effort isn't gonna cut it. |
